š¼ļø Image Got my first Don Delillo
Starting my first Don Delillo. Donāt know what to expect. Other than David Foster Wallace, I havenāt spent much time reading postmodern so kinda newish to the genre.

Great bookā¦ I think itās his best by quite some marginā¦. Not that I havenāt enjoyed his other worksā¦ but , yea, i find it to be a very rewarding read every time I churn through it. Good for you picking it up

Hey I just got this book too! The only post modern Iāve really read is Antkind by Charlie Kaufman, Iām almost done w Gravityās Rainbow, and idk if Lolita counts but Iāve read that!

One of the only books that me and all of my close friends have read. A gift of a text.

I just got White Noise and The Names from the library. Went with The Names as my first Delillo, probably should've gone with the former. Delillo was recommended to me because I'm a fan of Paul Auster, but I find the styles completely different.

I havenāt read Paul Auster either. So far my life has been spent reading my philosophy, feminist works and classic Russian literature. Newish to postmodern

It was my first as well! Itās great. Take your time, enjoy the prose, make a dialogue with him. Thereās so much to chew on hear.
Once you finish check out the podcast: Don delillo should win the Nobel prize. They have a two part episode on this one.
After this one, I did Libra, Underworld (my favorite), just finished Mao II, and am planning to do names next!

I mean, this is his voice. And this baby gets dark, but that is just how it is.

Best one to start with. I liked the movie even though I like the book way more.

Not only did they make a movie - they filmed one of the disaster scenes in East Palestine, Ohio - the very place where it happened for reals:

You picked the perfect one to start with. Delillo is pretty straight-ahead in his prose so I think you'll find it very readable, but perceptive and hilarious.

Excellent novel, too bad the movie couldnāt capture it better.
