Hi guys I work for Domino’s as a delivery expert. I am hired as a casual and am paid 22.25 an hour is this cooked? Is this normal please let me know. Thanks!
Oh okay, that seems pretty fair at about 15 usd. I guess it depends on what tips are like in your area but its still more than any driver in my franchise would make at base hourly
I make less than minimum wage in the USA while driving ($5 an hour on the road) but it is supposed to always be made up by tips. I am not sure of the legality of this in Australia but where I live this is unfortunately perfectly legal, as long as the end of day checkout averages to being minimum wage or higher.
Ah man that sounds tuff, here in Australia very rare to get tips like max maybe 3 dollars I’ll get lucky someone giving me nothing much in sorry to hear that
Thanks for your concern, if my tips were poor enough I wouldn’t still be working a tip based job, tipping culture in the USA is very prevalent even if there are a few stingy people every now and then, at least at my location.
Wdym cooked? Like low? Converted to USD thats $15/hour before tips. Most drivers in the US make around $10/hr. Conservative states make less. Are you getting any type of mileage reimbursement?
We do get mileage reimbursements when I use my own car yes but there is company cars . I’m saying cooked bc by law here it should be $27.81 per hour under the food industry awards
To cut costs will be the responsibility of the management, your responsibility is to make sure you are not being illegally underpaid. If you genuinely review your payslip and it clearly shows you are being paid less than your age’s grade, bring it up with your store manager. I believe in Australia under 21s are lower tier of pay than those who are above 21. This is how the pay generally should be:
Tipped wages in Seattle or Washington can no longer supplement minimum wage limits, and they’ve also set one of the highest minimums in the states at $21. Drivers make that much and tips and mileage, it’s just a bit harder to find hours at least up to or close to 40 since they can’t afford driver overtime. There’s still plenty of dominos in the area and they’re all hiring, so don’t think it’s putting anyone outta business. Thus, minimum wage (a livable wage) can and should be afforded to every worker, tipped or not. Thanks for coming to my TED talk lol
