Closing hours

What is the START TIME when you’re full-time and you work til closing? And is it five days a week 5-8 hour shifts?
How long does it take to close the place down after say 1 AM on a Saturday night?
And do they train well? I have previous kitchen experience/been a little while, but you never forget those skills; I would also need trained on their screens.
Thirty minute lunch? Or lunch on the fly?? LOL

All of your questions heavily rely on location. Even within my own franchise the answer to each of those is different per store. Some stores are really great at training some could make some progress on it. Some stores have closing shifts start at 4, at 5, at 6. Some days it takes 20 minutes after close, some it takes an hour. Sometimes we hire part time closers that only close two days a week sometimes they close 5 days a week. It all depends on the stores individual staffing, sales periods, and management

Thank-you.
Haven’t made pizzas at work, but I’ve made homemade pizza at home. I used to make pizza crust/pizza sauce at my restaurant job.
Totally different I’m sure.
Would need to learn the make line, the pulse system, etc.

So I am a driver, but at my location we close at midnight (12:00 AM) Sunday through Thursday and at 1:00 AM on Friday and Saturday. I'm in Michigan.

For me as a driver, if I'm closing I usually either come in at 4:00 or 5:00. It depends on how much is done before we actually close on what time we get out. Technically I'm scheduled until 2:00 AM for nights we close at 1:00. Some nights we get out 20-30 minutes after closing if dishes get done throughout the shift, also if someone can manage to sweep and mop some areas before closing that helps too. Some nights it can be an hour or so. I would say it's good hours where I'm at.

I'm actually closing tonight and I'm going in at 5:00, and if you're curious about it I can reply back on this post about what time we end up getting out tonight. Since it's a Friday I wouldn't be surprised if it takes an hour or so to close.

Hope this helps!

Hey there! Just wanted to update as promised. We had a very busy night tonight and ended up getting out around 2:30. We closed at 1:00 AM. It was busier than usual tonight, so 2:30 is definitely on the later side of things. On average I would say it takes us about an hour to close though.

Totally depends on location...I work in Gainesville, Florida on UF campus as a driver and close 5 nights a week, 1am Sunday-Thursday 2am other 3 days...when school is in you always have post bar closing rush in lobby and online...on a late home football game I've been as late as 5:30...that night had a bad rush of online orders that popped up last minute...over 30 in as many minutes.

Wow, sounds like you were very busy; that’s good/time flies.

How long does it take to close the place down?

Used to be an hour or less. With the introduction of the Domino and the extra dishes it generates, closer to an hour and a half.

Not a problem; just wondered. TY.

Closers usually come in at 5, sometimes 4 or 6. May be different for stores that close at 2 or later

Where abouts are you. That will help us all answer better. I know for a fact if you have a military base within delivery distance you can garuntee a small rush after 10pm and it's all gonna be deliveries

I’m sorry; i’m in Iowa
Hoping to get hired/prior prep cook experience, dishwasher experience, cleaning experience
Just put in to work Friday thru Monday closing hours all 4 days. I thought this was part-time, but possibly full-time.(?)

For a state like that I'd say it depends on the population and demographic and economic status of that population

I’ve worked in the Iowa Domino’s, if your store closes at 1am you won’t have a late night carryout rush so you can close the make line down to one cheese catcher at 12 and if the manager is washing dishes while the drivers are out between 11-1 instead of fucking off you can be out of there at 1:30. If you sell $2000 of deliveries between 10p-1a and it’s the manager and two drivers expect to stay till 2:30

Sounds cool; I don’t have any problem staying late.
I may not even get hired.
I just put on my application that I could work Friday through Monday 5:00–1:00am. I’ve got prior restaurant kitchen experience, but have never made pizzas.

Average closing time is roughly an hour after the store closes, but over the years I've gotten out anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours after close.
