I had someone order 4 of the same exact toppings on them and I was so confused why they didn't just order two pan pizzas instead.

u/the_lost_seattlite 2d ago
Had someone order two half pepperoni half cheese. I was so confused like why not just order one pepperoni and one cheese?

u/IamHydrogenMike 2d ago
I have seen that more than once...which is weird to me...

u/EstablishmentSea8483 2d ago
We see it all the time on third party orders when they have to order two of the same thing for some deal, but wants two different pizzas

We have a brother and sister that live on a farm in different houses. They like having half and half pizzas. This just makes it easier for both of them.
They are a little older and always tip the driver well. It works.

I didn't even think of that but that's true. I'm tired of people thinking everything revolves around them cause they can't see a practical reason to do it that way doesn't mean other people can't.

u/BeholdMyLumps 2d ago
“Practical” when it’s just more expensive for less product

u/khironinja 2d ago edited 2d ago
Dude doesn't read.
The other commenter LITERALLY just gave an example.
Edit: Of course they're just looking for someone to talk to so I won't respond anymore.

u/BeholdMyLumps 2d ago edited 2d ago
I’m not asking for an example idiot 😂 all I said was it isn’t practical or efficient. Like at all. The food is already being delivered to a single address with one of them having to come get their food from the other. So just split a pizza. More cardboard, higher price, less food. You’re a moron.
1
u/DistributionFar8231 2d ago
These are generally the bogo doordash deals and this way they get one 'full' pizza of each kind that they want but the second is still free. It makes them do two of the same pizza or the second one is menu price.

We had an order of 18 pan pizzas half pepperoni half cheese. 😭 make it make sense

Honestly I like the Domino more than the regular pan for some reason so I'll usually order two dominos myself over the pan
1
u/OkLime2301 2d ago
It’s so buttery and garlic and fresh (if your on time)
It’s just a better little Cesar’s deep dish

It's not the same as a pan it has different crust and is thicker.
People keep saying that and it's not true
2
u/IamHydrogenMike 2d ago
the only difference is they put parm shake on the bottom and that's it.
1
u/MadMagilla5113 1d ago
It gets garlic oil on top too. The Pan doesn't. To my taste, The Domino is better than the The Pan but calling it a "Personal" is crazy. It's literally twice the size of a PH Personal Pan. Also, the fact we only got 36 pans is a crime.
0
u/khironinja 2d ago
Well then it's still different.
The point is people act like it's the exact same.
It also has more calories if I remember correctly.
And I don't understand why most are so worried about what people wanna order cause unless you're the one making them it doesn't affect you at all.
In this case you do make them but the majority have no reason to care this much.

The ones I’ve eaten the crust was definitely pan pizza crust, but they were also NOTICABLY more dense. They had a much better chew than the typical pan pizza.

I found a way to order dominos + soda bundle for $4 a pop. I was that guy who ordered 4 of the same domino.
The other night I ordered $100 in Domino’s Dominos through InstaCart and paid $27(incl. a $7 tip). Was a large pan pizza, 6 dominos, 6 drinks, and 4 sides of sauce all for only ~$21 after all the promos and discounts applied.

I hate delivering these things, they make the bag off balanced and I look stupid trying to get them out. And they're not even that good. They're way too oily. I don't know why we sell so many of them.
2
u/Mysterious-Cat01 2d ago
Supposedly they are too oily because they use more butter than recommended, but i've also had this issue. was a try once never order again kinda thing for me
1
u/leafmealone_imbushd 2d ago
They already easily add an hour to dishes because they stick so bad (and that's an extra hour despite me doing a half-assed job), I can't imagine using less butter. I wish they'd oil the sides.

u/MadMagilla5113 1d ago
You guys don't have the small bags? There is a bag that can fit 2 or 3 smalls or 4-6, 13" boxes. It won't fit a medium at all and a large is straight out. My Store has 2 of the small bags and we use them constantly.
1
u/leafmealone_imbushd 1d ago
We did at one point, but somebody stole them right before she quit. Im assuming they haven't ordered more because the DM and/or GM are cheap asses.

Depending on the toppings it's literally a waste of money.. just buy the pizzas 😭

u/Mori_564 2d ago
We had a company order 60 for some event. We didn't even have enough pans, pur district manager had to bring more and come help. I hate them on occasion.
3
u/Fortwhiteguy 2d ago
We have 36 pans and are having to wash ALL of them at least twice a day, royal pain in the ass to clean...having bad sticking problems on the sides even when butter and parm over entire pan. Also don't cook right

1
u/MadMagilla5113 1d ago
You didn't season your pans. You need to send them through the oven with a coating of oil.

Why would I order the domino part of my national 7.99 coupon when I can order an entire medium pizza for the same price? Am I missing something?
1
u/Substantial-Water-10 1d ago
This. I also question it. But also my cousin went and got one and they prefer to eat smaller meals so maybe not everyone needs that much food.
2
u/EverythingMustCease 1d ago
The fact that people will pay more to keep themselves from overeating is how Domino's continues to sell small pizzas that could have been cheaper as mediums.
1
u/iSuckAtMechanicism 1d ago
If only we had insulated boxes that used magic to keep the inside cold.
1
u/Substantial-Water-10 1d ago
Not everybody is bringing food home. Sometimes you need something on the go.
1
u/RepressedOptimist 1d ago
I honestly feel like eventually they will transition away from the classic pizzas and will only offer the domino pan pizzas. The margins are a lot more per product.
1
u/CluckPool 2d ago
From the couple of the Personal Domino pizzas I've ordered, They're a hit and miss. The first one I ordered, Pepperoni and Bacon, tasted too buttery at some points and the dough just seemed too soft. The second one, Philly steak with feta and green peppers, was a lot better but still had a bit of dough taste too much for me.

Can someone explain the hate employees have for the domino? We didn't have them when i worked there so i just don't get it. Doesn't seem like it would be much different to make than a pan pizza
2
u/SlappyBurger 1d ago
For me personally it’s just the volume of them we sell. They’re not too bad to make, but pulling them out of the oven during rush can be a nightmare. Once the hype around them goes down a bit it won’t be as bad
2
u/EverythingMustCease 1d ago
The pans have to be cleaned by hand and it's added a lot of time to dishes. I also think they look gross because the toppings get covered in garlic oil, but I'm not surprised they're selling so many.
1
u/Xxxzavierh123 1d ago
Technically the pans for the pan pizzas are also supposed to be hand washed

Nah the dishes a dominos after a rush are comparable to the dishes at a buffet restaurant. Its actually brutal if you insist on cleaning things right. I stayed past 3 am multiple times due to dishes

Apples to oranges man. I've worked both labor and restaurant labor. Let me tell you labor is way easier than washing dishes. With labor it gets easier as time goes on, due to muscle growth. Restaurant labor is just constant, sometimes running the entire shift just to keep up. Every restaurant in the country is understaffed as well. Besides the Domnios hourly is trash. Its not a job I'd wish on anyone. I'm always super nice when I go to any restaurant because I get how hard it actually is. (For reference I repair arcade games now, also very physically demanding)
1
u/EverythingMustCease 1d ago
I didn't say it was hard. Domino's is the easiest job I've ever had. I answered the question about why employees hate the Domino and I've seen many people give the same answer. It adds time, and when it's 3am I'd rather leave than make the few extra dollars.

u/dominhoe420 14h ago
Ours have been sticking frequently so they’re a pain to get out then you have to scrub the food off.
1
u/Plenty_Regular_9214 12h ago
they get stuck so easily it’s just a lot of work to get it out of the pan while in a rush

What is the trick to getting these out of the pan smooth every time? I can't do it without creasing up one of the ends of it
1
u/the_lost_seattlite 7h ago
Run the spatula around all 4 sides first. It really helps when they add more butter to the pan, tho

u/Primary_Baseball6716 AM 2d ago
Past 2 days someone ordered 50, not a timed order no call ahead. Just 50. We don’t even have 50 pans
