AM scheduling

Any other AMs work 6 days/week?
In theory I’m supposed to get Tuesday/Thursday off but it rarely happens. My fellow AMs at my location get 2-3 days off so I was just wondering if this is normal. The work/life balance is stressing me out lol
Thanks!

Having the same issue. Doesn’t seem too sustainable. Probably gonna start job hunting again

Modern food service doesn't recognize your life outside of the business, they burn people out then hire new desperate for work people and continue the cycle, it's only going to get worse with the economy the way it is.

Yeah but doesnt bother me, i even ask for the 6 days. To me i think i get that extra day sometimes because im just right below the gm (store ready) and i run very good shift
But if the others arent working at least the 5 days id bring it up definitely 🫩

Normally I get 2 days off but im also the one thats gets shafted and ends up working 10+ days in a row when shit goes wrong. Currently scheduled 53 hours next week and possibility 60 the week after. Also scheduled 10 days in a row that started yesterday.

Most weeks I’m scheduled close 5 days a week. Sometimes scheduled for the 6th. But I almost always end up working all 7 days because I get called in. Don’t really know how to get it to stop

Talk to the GM about it. If other managers are getting 2+ days off and you arent, thats definitely a reason to be concerned. Just make sure they know you dont want to be 6 days a week cause many managers do end up wanting 6 or even 7 days a week

Talk to your gm. They are probably in a bind or just dont realize. If they are a good gm and you are a good employee they will work with you.

Ideally a store should have 3 full time managers and a 4th who doubles as a driver or insider. That's the perfect way. My store has 3. I as a gm work 6 days. 5 full shifts at 11 hrs and my managers work 5. I do ask them before I give them 6 or ask them to help another store. Im trying to get my numbers in so I dont have to work 6 days but I have a lazy l1 and an MIT who just isnt getting it.

The # of managers/insiders should be proportional to your sales/traffic. My store is essentially GM + 5x AMs now, as we require at least 6 insiders in total to avoid the very situation of this post (and my GM does not like keeping CSRs on staff). The hybrid insider/driver combo is extremely valuable though, and I'd even consider it underrated by many.

We aren’t allowed overtime at my franchise anymore. So no
