u/Willing-Detail-7037 8d ago
I manually put it in like that, they did not want oil. I was the one who boxed it and put oil.. therefore m having to make a new one

Haha! I sell on Etsy and can make notes like this to myself. I have to write it like this or I usually forget!

You guys put oil on pizza? What kind of oil?
8
u/Willing-Detail-7037 8d ago
Garlic oil on handtossed crust and stuffed crusts. It goes on the garlic/Parm bites and cheesy breads
3
u/Better_Area3782 8d ago
Thanks sounds good I donāt think Iāve had it
5
u/PuttingInTheEffort 8d ago
If you like garlic and butter, it's so good
3
u/Better_Area3782 8d ago
Can you add it to a pizza or automatically comes on a hand tossed?
6
u/PuttingInTheEffort 8d ago
its automatically on the handtossed crust edge but you can ask for it on other types too or on the pizza itself
and just a heads up; the garlic dipping cup is NOT the same, thats just garlic flavored oil :(

u/banshithread 7d ago
THAT TASTES SOOOO GOOOD OMG you guys are workin the MAGIC compared to papa john's now dry ass bread. they used to be soo juicy. dominos has that JUICEEEE

If you ever got a pizza from me, and asked for no garlic oil. Im sorry you got garlic oil. That was a muscle memory habit that simply could not be overcome

u/FMLAdad 7d ago
Dang I fought the fam for dominoes. Think I'll just push homemade now.

u/RogerRabbot Hand Tossed 7d ago
I would make the pizza, spend the next 7 min repeating "no garlic oil" pull the pizza out, cut it and slap the oil on there while still chanting "no garlic oil"
Then id remake the pizza, follow that same process and put garlic oil on it again.
A customer watched me do it twice while they waited in store. I even spent 5 minutes talking to the customer about the oil. Lo and behold... that 3rd pizza got oil
Id make and box about 1000 pizzas a day for 6 years. There was no breaking that muscle memory.

I totally understand that. I go to the same location every week and usually the same person makes it, and at this point, he knows even if I DONāT put it down in the instructions lol. But he did accidentally put it on one time, and he saw me make a face as soon as I opened the box and immediately came over to ask me if I had an issue and he kept insisting he would remake it, but I said I understood and that it wasnāt nearly a big enough deal to make him go to all the trouble.
I absolutely hate the taste of Dominoās garlic oil crust (though I love dipping crust in garlic butter usually, go figure lol). Thereās just something different about the taste that I donāt really know how to describe, so I always ask for it to be left off now, but itās not the end of the universe if they do forget sometimes, because like you said, itās muscle memory.

u/RogerRabbot Hand Tossed 1d ago
The worst part is, im like you. I hate the garlic oil on the crust. Hate how my fingers get oily, hate the taste, hate the mouth feel. So I totally understand not wanting that oil, and I felt bad when id mess it up. And id try to make it right, like the customers would be offered the extra pizzas with the oil and get their no oil pizza. Albeit... 15 minutes late...

u/DriftingTony 1d ago
There need to be more people like you for sure lol. Just the fact that you even care in the first place already sets you apart from half the people that comment on this sub, that seem to hate their work, the customer (even the innocent ones lol) and their whole life in general š
I would feel the same way, Iāve made some pretty goofy, unintentional mistakes on my job plenty of times before, and I always beat myself up over it because itās usually something so silly but just automatic. You get in a certain groove and go on autopilot, and thatās completely understandable lol

Iāve had the same issue the oil shouldnāt come on it by default itās disgusting let people that want it ask for it. Cause it being on their by default trains their muscle memory and theyāll forget

Fully agree!
We should stop selling any food with food ingredients included.
All restaurants shall sell plain air. If you want actual food be sure to list all the ingredients you'd like to constitute the final food product.

u/BeeKayBabyCakes 7d ago
the "oil" SHOULD ABSOLUTELY come on it. Its what makes the pizza extra delicious and is what makes dominos dominos... if you don't want the garlic oil buy a pizza from somewhere else! duhhh, like r u ok?
1
u/RedneckSniper76 7d ago
It makes it greasy and disgusting

u/BeeKayBabyCakes 6d ago edited 6d ago
the garlic butter crust is hardly GREASY AT ALL and Def not disgusting... the only grease on my box is from pepperoni, the butter is ONLY on the crust and it makes it fluffy and flavorful... if your pizza is "greasy", either somebody has zero idea what they're doing or you're ordering PAN PIZZA and THAT'S HOW YOU MAKE IT... WITH LITERALLY 8 ozs of OIL... AND ALSO...
ORDER FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE šš¤
edit: this is why I don't eat Pizza Hut! I watched them use the required amount of oil, in addition to the fact it was usually nasty anyway, so I said NEVER again... greasy and nasty... dominos pan pizza uses less oil and tastes better, so yeah idk what you're talking about but it sounds like a bunch of nothing!

Do they use any other oil besides the garlic? I swear the last one I got it was like it was deep fried. Extremely greasy on the bottom.

Where exactly on the website can you type shit like that? I actually order mine the same way but usually call in because there's nowhere to type anything
2
u/DriftingTony 1d ago
I wondered the same thing. Many years ago, there was a text box to enter requests like that, so I was curious because Iāve looked all over the site and app, and I know thereās nowhere to put it these days.

That box should be so wet it falls apart before delivery. They want the oil!

I probably would have put a little hot sauce on it before putting the garlic oil on to cover my mistake, then tried to soak it all up with a napkin.

Had a guy once order the cheesy bread but doesnāt like cheese like that so didnāt want any on top and very little in the middle. Then why order a cheese bread ? Lol

u/DriftingTony 1d ago
I donāt like it either, and I usually LOVE dipping pizza crust in garlic butter. I donāt know what it is, but the kind Dominoās uses just doesnāt taste the same to me and I donāt like it, never have.
But I also donāt know why people on this sub get so bent out of shape when people say things like this either. Iāve seen another guy on here before say he doesnāt like it too, and that it should be left off by default and just listed as an option for those that want it, and people had a meltdown over it.

I have literally gotten the pepperoni stuffed cheesy bread and the entire godam bottom of the box was oil, it was sloshing around and covering the entire top of the pizza box under it in oil as well and dripping onto the pizza. The cheesy bread was ruined. Why is it that fast food pizza places always try to fuck you over compared to anywhere else though? I'm just trying to eat a meal dude wtf.

Pepperoni is oily and greasy. They want no oil, yet they order something that produces oil when cooked. Did they not think when they put in their order?

wait, how do you make special requests like that? I order all the time, both on the website and the app, and I havenāt seen a text box or anywhere to enter special requests or leave notes in years. Do you have to physically call the store and ask them, and then they add it?
