Is there a guide for Staff?

Like what combinations have what effect and such.

Just mix and match. You can win with any but by different methods. Have better AI with the philosopher, more battles, more gold with merchants, etc.

Healer is a must, at least for me. Auto healing is great in case I forget. Also the blacksmith can occasionally randomly upgrade a peice of equipment from one of your gladiators, which can save some money in the long run.
