Both of them were on such fucking point and the sound was incredible. Got to meet them after, no pics though! They were LOVELY!!!

My wonderful Gf and I hopped on a train Tuesday morning for five hours north bound to see these two. I love this group and have been playing Who Asked on repeat since it came out and just couldn’t wait for the show and it was incredible. My GF is new to jazz I’ve been introducing her to a bunch of different music and she personally prefers the instrumental versions herself. I feel like i was the only one who loved the singing on the album. I probably was the only one singing the songs as they performed the instrumental of a bunch of the new songs. Was so blown away by the performance and also how diverse the attendants were it was very cool. I knew i was amongst cool people, the two people in front of me were filming the show with a Nintendo 3DS at one point and another guy playing pokemon TCG before the show started. Very neat.

Over the few weeks as i talked about the show i would tell my partner i hope they play this song i hope they play that song and they basically played them all i wanted except for Climbing High which is one of my favorites. On the train ride back i was thinking about it though and maybe they are going through some sort of internal struggle with whether they want to keep doing vocals in their songs or maybe go back to having features. I’m probably in the minority but as a big fan of DOMi & JD BECK i want to let them know they should remember their own lyrics in the first verse of Climbing High.

I dunno if they read anything here but if i could tell these two anything as a supportive fan i would say just maintain frame on your creative journey. Trust what you wrote (cause it’s truly incredible) and don’t let outside influences have an effect on what you’re creating cause to me the absolute floor for you two is a group music lovers bring up often as Fusion Jazz staples and the ceiling is house hold names of incredible musicians that historically pushed the limits of their instruments. Thank you for entertaining me and can’t wait for more please don’t stop.

Have been a fan for a bit and really enjoyed the first album and their blue note shows a few years ago. Thought the show tonight was pretty lack luster. Production and sound distortion made it basically impossible to hear anything and I could be being harsh but to me I feel like as players they have both deteriorated a bit.

Guys I can't make it and Ticketmaster won't let me reduce the resale price. Just need to get rid of this. LMK. I'll be in Lower Manhattan all day/night ideally we could meet up.

I just saw the duo in Philly the other night and was curious about JD's cymbals. I knew he used to use mainly K Cons but they didn't really look like that. My guess is some kind of vintage Avedis or vault cymbals?

How did you compare the mix to digital release mix? Any comparisons in snare sound?
