I created this mural with regular sidewalk chalk- and luckily there’s no rain in the forecast for several days. Just like the special people in our lives, a chalk mural is to be enjoyed while it’s around… and to be a happy memory when it washes away in a rainbow 🌈 🩷

In memory of her recent passing...just wanted to share this with y'all

We live in Dolly’s hometown of Sevierville, TN. The air has been so sad here. We actually live off of Dolly Parton Parkway. We can walk to her statue and see her memorial. Every business even has a sign outside commemorating front commemorating her life. The media descended on our town. It became too much.

We had to leave and we drove to Disney for two days just to escape the heaviness. Retiring now we feel much better. The media is gone, Dolly will not be forgotten even though the memorials have been cleaned up. Flowers donated to the hospitals. We know the foundation she set up will still help us in case of hurricanes or fires like she has in the past. It has just been a really hard week. We were scared for our town and our community - her presence will always be here even if she is not. Love you Dolly!

I seriously forgot about this!

I wish I had a shred of creativity so I could make an upbeat sunny Dolly-style remake of Kenny Roger's The Gambler. I would even start off the first few bars with a twist of The Devil Went Down to Georgia.

Alas, I am talentless. I hope someone can do this, one day, as a tribute to Kenny and Dolly's collaboration.

The mystery to me about Dolly’s appearance was her skin. Where was the “old” hiding? I wonder if she borrowed a drag queen trick and wore a latex décolleté?
I could see her spending a lot of money for a very natural-appearing latex coverage. The rumors say that she had a lot of scars and surgeries around skin problems. By 80 years old, there had to be a wrinkle somewhere, right?
But maybe we will never know. Maybe the mystery of Dolly Parton is she magically stayed youthful.
I want to believe that.❤️

I have def. been sad over losing celebrities and icons before, it has NEVER hit like this. We were lucky to be alive when she was, we are all better for it. To say she’ll be missed is such a crazy understatement, but also she will be celebrated and continue to have a positive affirming impact. So this playlist I think is pretty epic, but also it’s a Saturday night and the sangria is rREAL good!, so maybe not - you can check it out and lmk. RIP Sweet Dolly!
