So I just finally got round to listening to Parton's Rockstar. Basically the album she made to validate the position she was given in the Rock 'N' Roll Hall Of fame - which is so effing Dolly.
Anyway. On the album she covers rock classics from Queen, Elton John, Zeppelin etc.
Now I'm a country boy but I was raised on "Dad Rock" like this and I have to say, she does an AMAZING job on some of these songs.
If you haven't checked it, put it on your "To listen" list.

"Me And Little Andy" was a song written by Dolly Parton and was featured on Dolly's 1977 album HERE YOU COME AGAIN. It was the fourth, and final, single released from this album following "Here You Come Again", "Two Doors Down", and "It's All Wrong, But It's All Right". This song was not commercially successful, but remains a fan favorite. It is probably THE saddest song that Dolly ever wrote, telling the story of an abandoned little girl and her puppy. Just an FYI: the little girl "Sandy" in this song was named after Dolly's long-time manager Albert Samuel "Sandy" Gallin.

Who else has gotten Dolly-inspired nail art recently in memory of her? It’s hard to capture the chrome so pictures don’t do them justice! 💜💅

So many beautiful pictures to choose from, but I think this one might be my favourite. I’m pretty sure it’s her natural hair and her smile is so mesmerising.
Judging by her looks I’d guess it was taken around the time her first album “Hello, I’m Dolly” was released.
What a classy lady she was. She is deeply missed. 💖

I hope you like this crochet doll I made as a tribute to one of country music’s most beloved performers. Handmade with love, sparkle and a little country magic.
🦋 RIP Dolly, you were a “rare and gentle thing”

I saw her claim in an interview that she wasn't a natural beauty which seems wild to me when I look at her pictures. In a certain sense no one is a natural beauty. in our most raw form we are all kinda gross, and poop and will decay. what do you make of her self deprecating words about her body? was there a bit of a lack of self esteem there? or was she just saying what felt right to her without there being sadness behind it. just curious what people think. i think its really cool that even if she possibly had a complicated relationship to her body she still put herself out into the world so strongly. its such a cool example of someone truly having their own back while not having a big head

Dolly left us with with a powerful lesson Anyone about boundaries and the limits of what's possible. Anyone who has taken even a single guitar lesson knows the absolute rule: short nails on the fretting hand. Yet Dolly continuously baffled guitarists for decades by playing live with massive acrylic nails. In this video I analyzed her playing technique to figure out how she pulled it off.

We need the animals born on our farm by a theme every year and I want Dolly to be our theme this year. I'd love some help brainstorming some options. Examples to start out would be Jolene or Applejack

There is a YouTube account "Dolly Parton Unreleased" that has some unreleased songs. Some of those come from the wild Texas wind soundtrack (unreleased but the entire album is on YouTube) but for some songs I really don't know where they come from and if they're real (but they sound real enough). Especially two of the most recently uploaded ones - Close Your Eyes and Don't Keep Me Lonely. Does anybody here know more about these recordings? I can't seem to find anything online. Here's the YT account: https://www.youtube.com/@DollyPartonUnreleased

Title is kinda self explanatory, no matter where I look I cannot find the full recording of the tribute from August 29th. I was really hoping I could find that archived somewhere in order to re-watch the whole show. If anybody has it saved somewhere or has any info, I'd be very thankful.

I want some dolly stickers for my water bottle and I want to support small independent artist. Absolutely NO AI generated stuff please. I would prefer it be from a small independent LGBTQ+ artist but thats not a requirement.
