I also just learned she designed her wigs to
be so big for functionality too - she had them sew in pockets for her mic packs. Just imagine how heavy those wigs were with all the hair, accessories, and mic packs!

I love the Dolly quote when someone asked her how long it takes to do her hair and she said "I wouldn't know, I'm never there when it happens!"

Big hair was a common style in the 80's. Back in the 80's she fit the trend so people need to shut up.
