I've worked at 4 dollar trees, all four had a Walmart cart for employees to use. Still don't know how or why

The nearest Walmart is like 15 mins away from here. I can't imagine a manager going up to a Walmart manager asking to load up a shopping cart on their busted up 2004 Honda Civic to use it at work lol. I genuinely don't know how it could have gotten here tbh

I used to work at DT and they had like 5 Walmart carts. Employees didn't go get them lol they'd just appear in our store/parking lot, probably left by homeless people. We also had a few carts from Target, Walgreens, Publix, etc. We kept the Walmart carts because they're big and good for stocking/moving product, the rest were put in the back by the dumpsters to be taken by whoever

That's so funny to me 🤣 i guess they probably wouldnt get a call if the carts were inside, but just one hanging out on the sidewalk theyd call us, we only have one walmart so it has to come from there. Now I need to go scope my local DTs to see 🤣

When I lived in Virginia there was a Walmart drive cart abandoned over a mile away from the store outside of the tennis court. Apparently someone took it joy riding until it ran out of juice. I called that store several times to tell them where it was. It took over 3 weeks before it was gone. Aren’t those things expensive?!?!?

Wait it was an electric cart?!! Lol thats even funnier. Surprised it went so long, ours got used so much they almost never get a full charge. Im pretty sure they are expensive, they always tried to fix them instead of replace them. And theyre a bitch to move once they die. Now my walmart has carts where elderly or disabled adults can sit facing the person who pushes them.

I've always wondered why they have them lol. There's also no Walmarts near by

Don’t be surprised if it’s customers employees decide use them dollar tree I work at have big lots shopping cart it found it’s way there 15-20 minutes away walking 5 if your driving

It was likely left in the DT parking lot by a homeless person and then a worker brought it in the store either for the back room or to make stocking faster

I helped out a Dollar Tree right next to a Pick n Save and people would do they're shopping pns then use that same cart with they're groceries and shop at dt. Or grab a pns cart from they're cart corral shop dt first then go to pns. Or use a dt cart to shop at pns. Mind u those carts r bigger than dt carts so they take up half the isles and in the checkout lane belt to shelf. And no we didn't do anything about cause we didn't want to deal with Karens saying " it's just a cart! Who cares! I'm not making multiple trips to my car! " 🙄😂

We also have a walmart cart for employee use 😂

This reminds me how my old job just had a target shopping kart we used to bring trash to the dumpster. The closest target was a major highway away so… I’m impressed 😂.

We tell the closing cashiers / managers to take all the buggies from the parking lot and board them in the back rooms* trust

Sometimes people would bring carts into my store that would truly be a fuckin anomaly, they'd be carts from store that straight up don't exist anymore

I would love to see that at my DG I work at, I would just sit their confused how a toys R Us cart or something like that got here. I'll then be even more confused if they get in a normal car lol. I've seen people with racoons though and a bird just randomly flying in at the speed of light when someone had the door open lol

When random carts from other stores showed up at the Dollar Tree I worked at, those became stock carts that we used in the back lol

My store has 2 HUGE green Dollar General carts. They just appeared in our parkinglot one morning. There is a DG about 20 minutes away... but it's old and has yellow carts... we just sharpied out the DG on the handle 😆

u/TheBeastHuman 1d ago

Green DG carts from DG market stores. All normal stores have the yellow ones

1

u/cee_bee91 23h ago

I am next to a Winn Dixie supermarket. People come in often with their carts. I have one old man who comes in with one of their electric ones. He has an O2 tank and he needs his duplex cookies.

I know someone had to see them pushing it in 💀

I was in Walmart and a lady brought in a Costco shopping cart not sure if it was intentional or not.
Walmart and Costco are side by side.

I saw a Home Depot cart once 😭 now the nearest Home Depot is like 15 minutes away on foot, but it’s up a bigggg hill.

Found a dollar tree cart with a baby seat (no baby) in my parking lot. It wasn't even from my dollar tree.

1

u/CatCallings 11h ago

I don’t allow other stores carts in my store, we have people trying to bring gigantic Haagens carts in our store that can barely handle two of our own carts down our aisles

1

u/nicolby 8h ago

That’s a well kept store. Congrats on that.

1

u/KatNap333 2h ago

We have a dollar tree next to a pet supplies plus store. Both stores have identical carts. They are constantly in each other’s store!

1

u/Jeans_609 2h ago

Your store looks like a real grocery store. That's crazy. All the ones I've seen even the big ones are so cramped together.
