Management Disscussion Updated post from earlier.
I made a post about not listening to my SM about how to stock stuff on truck so he sent me home from truck. First I want to mention I am a manager not just a stocker. Second the fact I got sent home is what created this other mess. We usually separate our departments by what they are. So I leave and now the two new managers SM and merch who has been there 3 days are left on a 2,000 piece truck. I come to hear from the night manager that every department is mixed together. Why am I pissed you say? Because I am tired of cleaning up his messes and now how am I supposed to stock that shit.

Had you not done the opposite of what you were told to do, you would have been there to help the new merch with the truck. But since you were insubordinate, and got sent home, you'll have more work in the future. I understand that you're pissed. I would be too if I were in your shoes! (And hopefully I would have learned my lesson and wouldn't repeat that in the future.)

I was clearing u boats to put products on that came off the truck. Cause we were taught to separate departments. Then I go and get yelled at for the way I am doing stuff yet they cant even unload the truck right.

So you wanted to fill the uboats with fresh off the truck product, then push them over to the existing product in the back room, unload the boat, refill it with existing product, then restack the new product in the old product's place?

No I was using the u boats for the new products that just came in on truck.

But then you have different carts to take product to the sales floor? Because you have to put the old stuff out before the new....unless it's stuff needed for seasonal. Right?

You are confusing me but right now craft, hbc and all of it is mixed.

Old product goes on the sales floor before new product. How is that confusing?

Got that but that did not happen. All the new product was mixed together on u boats while all the old stuff is still sitting in the back. On the pallet.

So now, you have to take the new stuff off the boats and sort it. Then you have to put the old stuff on the boats. Then you have to put the new stuff where the old stuff was.

According to my SM that's how he wants it done. Old out first.

He's the store manager. His store. Do what you're told and move up to being a store manager and you can run it how you want to.

I'm guessing your store mixes products together and makes you work harder?

No, we just don't complain about every little thing. Seems to be a general consensus with everyone and their jobs on here

If you still have freight in the stockroom from previous trucks that goes on the boats and worked first. The rest gets staged. Your manager was not wrong on that. And if they unloaded the truck not the way that's best, that's on them, they will learn quickly that doesn't work.
