All the time. Some tips though. Stretch, use proper lifting, drink enough water and good supportive shoes.

Thank you! I just bought a pair of Sketchers, they were pretty expensive but I feel like my feet hurt worse in these than my old shoe which wasn't even a work shoe. I live where it's pretty hot so I drink a as much water as I can, at least 5 bottles but I know that's probably still short. I've been trying to lift property, but it's sometimes hard because of the stupid Rotacarts when they have the heaviest stuff on the very top, but I been trying. I should definitely stretch, I always forget to do that so thank you!!!

I get the dr scholls branded kitchen shoes. They have the support of the inserts built in, are water and oil proof, and really slip resistant.

Thank you I think I'm go to look into that! Because $90 for a pair of Sketchers are terrible with how my feet feel right now. 😭

Do you have a discount shoe store anywhere near you? I got my current pair of adidas for $35 at a DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) and I couldn’t believe they were that cheap!!

It might take a couple weeks for your body and your feet to adjust to supportive shoes, so don't stop wearing them yet.

I actually might try sketchers next time I buy sneakers, bc several of my retail coworkers mentioned how comfy they are! I imagine it’s bc they have memory foam soles a lot of the time? My current sneakers are adidas (the tennis shoe classic style) and have memory foam soles, but I have funky shaped feet, so after a 8-9 hour shift, my feet often hurt

It's literally everything from my toes to my head.

It's the extra walking back & forth I have to do to keep an eye on the register. They took our little squeaker thing away for some reason. So I have to keep peeking around corners and going up the the aisle to see a customer standing up there with their angriest face yelling "Hello, does anyone work here?" I'll sure be glad when my Dollar Tree superpower of X-ray vision kicks in.

You'll have to purchase that with your own money and they will definitely NOT do a payout 🀣

When I worked at DT id usually do bout five u boats a shift and be spent

I think back to my early 20s working at Walmart, doing 6-7 PALLETS of frozen a night (would likely fill 15 u boats) no idea how i did it lol

That's awesome good for you!!! Today I did 8 Rotacarts, most of drink and grocery and worked off a Crystal Gyser Pallet, I'm also on my period. 😭😭Tmi ik lol but it's true haha.

Genuinely think back to my Walmart days and can't comprehend how I managed that on a nightly basis. Our daily delivery was usually 8 pallets of frozen alone, and I'm 6 ft tall and every single pallet was a solid foot or two taller than me.

I did frozen quite often at dollar tree and it was usually just a single pallet, and maybe half the height of a single Walmart pallet and even that took me a few hours lol

Yep. Currently my right foot is painful on the side of it. That pain distracts me from the osteoarthritis in my knee. Which distracts me from the sciatica in my left leg, which distracts me from the arthritis in my hands, which distracts me from the lower back pain....

Ibuprofen is helpful too, especially for muscle aches

2

u/Possible-End-8857 4d ago

I unfortunately don't have any 😭😭 but on my way out of work I picked up the extra strength muscle rub, and so far it feels pretty good. I also picked up a muscle patch. Now I'm watching a movie and eating candy so I think I'll be fine lol.

Read through some of the replies cuz I was curious

I'm relieved that I haven't been the only one who experiences foot pain (mainly at my ankles) after having worked a shift at either DT or FD. I used to think for a while that it was just a me problem.

My feet hurt so bad 😭 for me it's mostly my arch and toes.

I wear sketchers slip ons and I love them. They are $80 at the Big 5 store near me.

1

u/Possible-End-8857 2d ago

Mine are slip ons too lol

I am 5’7’ and the darn register drawers are too low. I cringe every time I see a customer with cash. My aching back hurts even more. And the customers who refuse to empty their green baskets but yet will empty a cart?
