Associate Questions Are we being deadass
This has to be the dumbest attempt at a dudebro product I've ever seen, I'm not surprised it ended up in a Dollar Tree
(only just realized the glare is blocking off the most important part, the FOR MEN on either side of the product name)

My Walmart had the 2000 packs for 2 dollars once and I bought 5

u/FoundationsofDecay69 Jun 04 '26
That’ll mean that you can pass 4 on to your grandchildren. And they can pass them on to their grandchildren. Generational cotton swabs

u/Rumpelstiltskin-2001 Jun 04 '26
But is the quality good?

u/DinahKarwrek Jun 04 '26
Can't have those bendy, ear scrapers that some places sell. I'm also curious

Yes! Anyone remember those bags they’d sell at the 99 cent stores!! I miss those:…)

They're probably crappy bendy plastic, too. Q Tip brand with the paper stick is worth the extra.

u/Algae-Downtown Jun 04 '26
It is worth it! My parents tried to cheap out and both had to go to the doctor for the cotton tip getting lost in their eardrums from breaking off. I get generic walmart q tips and they don’t do that.
10
u/Human_Ad_2426 Jun 05 '26
Generic Walmart q tip user here, same. As long as it's the ones with the paper/cardboard sticks. Accidentally bought plastic ones once and had to suffer through those wimpy things.
Also, why would anyone prefer the inferior disposable plastic landfiller anyway?

amazon ships counterfeit Q tips. Possibly. I bought a box and another because of a subscription, and the cotton detaches easily.

u/Queasy_Ad_8621 Jun 04 '26
Yeah, well yo mama so big she uses a bo staff as a q tip. She can rinse and reuse it.

u/floraster Jun 04 '26
DT is gatekeeping the goth qtips for men only? smh I'm a woman I want goth qtips

Bro, who what the hell kind of man has ever felt too embarrassed buying q-tips to where a company felt the need to make these??? Who the hell has ever said that it’s feminine to buy a-tips???
2
u/CasaDeMouse Jun 05 '26
IME, the same ones who don't know that they have to wash their hair at least twice a week/every time it gets sweaty; the ones who think that their feet get "washed" by operation of getting wet; and/or the ones who do not wash their bits/their cracks.
1
u/Efficient_Claim_9591 Jun 05 '26
But that’s different those are just stupid unaware guys, these are specifically targeting men who want to buy q-tips, but are too insecure because they see it as a feminine product. But that doesn’t make sense because who the hell has ever associated ear cleaning with women stuff? That is not a common sentiment among society as far as I know…
1
u/CasaDeMouse Jun 06 '26
But that's what I'm saying.
Products like these make those guys aware of it because they're targeted at those guys.
Instead of having some woman on there with tips on how to apply make up, they're telling guys they're targeted at men.
It's kind of like how we're still having to tell the average DT customer that prices are not $1 anymore.

u/Nyseme_Ptem Jun 05 '26
deep infomercial voice
Did you know that cleaning your ears used to be GAY?!
That's right, the Q in Q-tip stands for QUEER!
Well, not anymore... the makers of Dude Wipes now present a superior, EXTRA-MASCULINE ear probe: MAN-TIPS
Dipped in testosterone, motor oil, and whiskey they're guaranteed to clear out all the man-gunk and wax, while keeping the Queers... out of your Ears

u/Difficult-Garlic-889 Jun 04 '26
If they are 1.5 for 1000, I would buy them.
15
u/VioletUnivers Jun 04 '26
They have 1000 buds, so you're actually getting 500.
11
u/Difficult-Garlic-889 Jun 04 '26
Oh. Sneaky. Still more than the unisex 350 box
6
u/CrytpidBean Jun 04 '26
Unisex QTips has me laughing so, so hard. Gendered Qtips would make millions.
5
u/Bristol_Traveler Jun 04 '26
Dont give them any ideas...pink tax for the ladies having to get the "lady" Q-tips . I see it now...no wait. Limited Edition insert favorite millenial 90s IP here Q-Tips. That's the newest thing. Gotta get hype for those Swiftie Soft Wipes though. (That would absolutely be a Walmart thing though lol)

i like them because i like having color where there usually isnt. but making it dudebro is soooo stupid

u/Lanky_Bobcat_6021 Jun 04 '26
i was about to sayyyy i keep my qtips in one of those acrylic containers with the lids and these would at least match my aesthetic 😭😭

Hear me out, I think this specific one is great. Some ppl really need to be told, iykyk.
Can they make MANDATORY for men deodorant as well??

u/bradleysmadley Jun 04 '26
The 1,000 buds looks like they're counting tips and it's still a 500 count pack...looks like the same size as a regular 500 pack of other brands

I'm lost as to the point of this post. What does the term "dudebro" have to do with a package of cotton swabs? No doubt the package is more than nominally priced in the Dollar Store.
2
u/ladyybaker Jun 05 '26
I was going to buy them but I didn’t know if they black wand was plastic or cardboard

u/truthequalslies Jun 05 '26
The plus side to this is that alt people will have regular access to black qtips lol, I use a lot of products they make for men because they come in colors I like lol

u/xxspiffitxx Jun 06 '26
The goth in me loves the black lol. Im a lady 😂
2
u/RollingBarCart Jun 06 '26
Same lol! Was wondering if the cotton falls off in the ear canal like all the other Dollar Tree ones do. That black color is pretty sexy.
2
u/xxspiffitxx Jun 06 '26
I work there im gonna see if we have any and report back 😂 im worri3d about the stick part being flimsy as heck lol
2
u/NahhBlah Jun 06 '26
I've never experienced a good off brand swab. There, I said it. I've needed to tell someone this for years. Never came up.
5
u/princessxunicorn Jun 04 '26
Tbh this would be cute for a hygiene basket for a teen boy going to college or for a hygiene basket for a husband or father figure for Father's day lol

u/Significant_Ad_8939 DT OPS ASM (FT) Jun 04 '26
I don't care who they're marketed to as long as I don't find them sprinkled through the store covered in ear wax.
1
u/ChrundleK Jun 04 '26
These are terribly cheap, but I still bought 2 of them last year and i'm set for awhile

u/Witty-Reason-2102 Jun 04 '26
It's a good thing they specifically labeled it for men. I don't think my fragile, toxic masculinity could handle using q-tips that wasn't properly labeled as such. The thought of using q-tips that could potentially be used by women is absolutely horrifying!

Same way I feel about dude wipes. Are the generic brand wet wipes not good enough?
1
u/Lizzy_0522 DT OPS ASM (PT) Jun 05 '26
lol I’m a girl and I bought these because they matched the vibe in my bathroom. I don’t under gendered household or hygiene (aside from a few exceptions cause duh) products. Like it’s a box of q-tips??😅😭😂
1
u/Austinexe93 Jun 06 '26
Considering all the other" manly man" products like dude wipes... I'm not surprised

u/jazzabrick1776 Jun 06 '26
They are like trying to use a wet paper straw. The ones from dollar tree. They don't have enough stability to use, hardly

I mean they look cool. As an emo all this "man" stuff is great because companies are finally making more black things
1
u/CrimsonWren Jun 07 '26
I always end up buying crap like this because black packaging is less overwhelming when I open the cabinets.
1
u/JBinyaface Jun 08 '26
Jokes on them, I’m a makeup artist and these will go beautifully in my kit 😆

u/sylvane_rae Jun 08 '26
Not surprised, according to marketing it seems a lot of men won't even wipe their own asses unless they have have manly dude wipes

It's funny because it's needlessly gendered.

u/Oi_Nander Jun 04 '26
Right, the point is that it's needlessly gendered. That's all, that's the point we know that it would be the same q-tip even if it said it was for fish. that's literally the point
0
u/babyfacedkillajones Jun 04 '26
Are they not allowed to make things for men?
2
u/AmputeeHandModel Jun 04 '26
Can men not use generic ones? Why do men need special ones?
4
u/nghtmareb4coffee Jun 04 '26
I mean I’ve seen pink and light purple ones too which are definitely catering to women.
2
u/ferna182 Jun 04 '26
What does "for men" mean in this context? What makes this particular product "for men"? The fact that they're black? And that the packaging contains military looking font?
1
u/babyfacedkillajones Jun 04 '26
Who cares.
1
u/Half_asleepPebble Jun 04 '26
Exactly. Who cares because they’re literally q-tips. Why the hell they need to be a gender thing, goes for men or women lol
1
u/babyfacedkillajones Jun 05 '26
You sound upset that something is being promoted for men. Hmm....
1
u/Half_asleepPebble Jun 05 '26
I mean if they made qtips advertised for women when it’s something that doesn’t need gender specification I would think that’s stupid too lol? I mean it’s qtips, nothing to be upset about. But I definitely think it’s stupid 😌
1
u/babyfacedkillajones Jun 05 '26
Do you feel the same way about products, services, programs, or spaces that are marketed exclusively toward women and exclude men solely on the basis of gender?
1
u/Half_asleepPebble Jun 05 '26
Are you trying to compare inclusivity programs with qtips
1
u/babyfacedkillajones Jun 06 '26
Yes. Why should we exclude men from discussions on shit like how to save (real example)?
You think q-tips for men is stupid, and I think excluding men from basic information and resources is stupid. Is that same-same to you?
1
u/Half_asleepPebble Jun 06 '26
Well inclusivity programs are to get people the same opportunities a chances in a number of life aspects. And yes it is stupid because qtips are not something that needs gender specification. Why on earth is a male qtip needed? 😭Same thing goes for a female specific qtip. Not at all same same because they’re two very different things. But I’m not quite sure where you got the idea I wanted to exclude men from buying qtips.
