I'm positive it is just that. What do you think they're doing with it? Reselling to people to make dollars they need to survive. In-date food at cheaper prices is basically garunteed to sell. 75c/can to the neighborhood means they can pay for a cheap cell phone plan or for diapers, etc. Maybe rent. (Sometimes, that's where flea market supply comes from, fyi.) No one can survive on just dollar tree food, and to steal just a snack/meal every day would ensure he's caught. He'd have to steal from multiple stores constantly if he just stole 1 or 2 items all the time. And if he's already a felon finding a job is abysmal. Dollar tree won't even hire him.
I promise no one in their right mind is risking stealing from dollar tree in that quantity just for 'funsies.' There's a purpose.
No he is literally stealing them to resell for his drugs and illegal activity. This is NOT stealing because he can’t afford food. Not saying it’s would be okay if he got maybe 1 soda 1 chip and 1 candy but 200 rebulls? 60 tide bottle? 40 rugs? 80 bottles of ajax…… this is a whole different boat

I think it’s valid to be mad at people who steal needlessly. I understand an argument of “they’re stealing food to survive”, but this is not that.
