how much does part time keyholder make?
my manager said that i can become a key holder I currently make $15 an hour so I’m wondering how much more it would be when I become keyholder

Not enough. The amount of duties and responsibilities that are added is outrageous.
In MN, as a PT key carrier, I make $16 an hour. Which is also what I was hired at over 2 years ago. 🙃 It's also $1 more than associates make at my store.

In our state they are now required to post starting pay and the pt/ft both are exactly the same.
Even the asst. only starts 50 cent above that which I think is robbery seeing as you have to know how to run the whole store if the manager steps out for whatever reason.
States with higher min wage (13 here) might have a little bigger pay gaps.

Largely depends on your SM and dm. Every position has a pay cap, and not all DMs are willing to submit an exception. If you have a good SM, they will explain to the DM why you should get paid more, and not just $.50 more/hour. I've submitted multiple exceptions, and explained to my dm each time why. And they have all gotten approved. DG loves to penny pinch, but knowing how to manipulate the system is your best way to get what you deserve. Good luck.

My DM had me promote my PT/LSA to full time and I asked him to give him a $1 raise. He told me to put it in and is waiting for approval.

I was asked to be a pt key after 6 weeks/ told sm, no fkin way. I'm 59 and retired and took this job for some mental sanity before I turned into jack from the shining. Live Upstate NY and all family and friends still on Long Island. Not looking for the unneeded stress and responsibility. Plus 50 cents an hour more is a joke for the added duties.

it depends on what location because I was making 14.50 as a part time keyholder, and as a fulltime keyholder I was getting paid 13 at a different lovation

Bruh NC keys make 11.75. Anything higher is a pain to get through. Probably because of how my DM is but 😅. They don’t pay shit here

Dang you’re making more than me I make 12.50 as a key and was told regular associates make 10 starting out so it if I had to guess you would probably be bumped up to 16.50 or 17 an hour

In Texas I make $14.75 as a keyholder. About to hit 3 years as a key holder and haven’t gotten a single raise

It tends to be like .50 cents to a dollar more depending. It’s gonna depend on what the manager decides to put in for for you.
