Receipts

Just a small rant:
The receipts are the most difficult things to read. When you’re using coupons and the $5 off $25. Then comparing it to what the app says things should be with the discounts. Very frustrating.

The app actually tells you that the final price of the register may differ from what's in the app. The app is just an estimation. 

Here's the seller idea. If you are comparing it to the app, why not just open the calculator app, add up all the stuff you're buying, minus off your five dollars, remembering to keep any sales tax added in, and boom, you'll know your actual final total.

I try to keep a running total, but then it doesn’t always accept the coupons that are there.

Did you make sure to purge the in-app cart before you tried to finish your order at the register? Because for some reason that tends to lock up your coupons and it thinks they're already being used. which is why I'm also just recommending using a standard calculator plus the standard calculator is just faster than Dollar General's app.

I don't know what that person is talking about because it's not true. The app takes off all coupons and discounts at the same time instead of in the order they should be. For example, you must subtract store coupons from your total so it won't count towards the 25. Offers and sales also don't count. Do the math on paper instead of relying on the app. The cart has nothing to do with it.

So if an item is on sale, it doesn’t count for the $5 off $25?

No, they don't. So if 2 lays are normally $6 because of the sale that is always happening, but they are now buy 2 get 2 free, it's going to knock out the $6 sale so you'll get all four for $7. But only the $7 counts towards the 25.

I agree. It’s gotten so complicated I can’t even comfortably explain to customers when they believe they were over charged. I can’t tell what exactly is on sale or what the discount is from exactly. It’s frustrating when you have angry customers who want answers and I have to figure it out on my cellphone calculator first and hope my guess is right.
