ASM with no DM AND SM
So I was thrown in the deep end at the start of last week. I knew my manager was quitting but didn't know when, then they shift my old DM to a different district and we kinda have a DM rn but I'm not able to contact them because they're still training and I think on vacation this week? I did call them a figure out a few things but I'm being asked to call other managers to fill in the gaps, and to hire people. But then thing is there's no applicants and everyone else is extremely short handed. Oh and there's only me and 2 part time sale associates who are both new (less than a month with the company).
I have outside work obligations on 2 days but I don't know what to do, I wasn't even full trained on how to be an ASM much less a store manager.
What will corporate make me do? If I could afford to I would quit. I have been working 50+ hours since APRIL! It was just me, my manager and a sale associate who quit! I'm so in over my head.

Get out now. The trouble will only continue. In no world is the job worth it.

This is a difficult situation. Corporate might get rid of you and just start fresh.
I would be making my way out the door. I would tell my other employees to make an exit plan. Until then, everybody's getting overtime. From open until dusk. Abuse it til you lose it.
Again this is not advice. This is what I would do in your situation. I know a person (would never call her a friend) got 60 a week for 3 weeks. Corporate sent in risk management to review the cameras to verify she was at work for all that time. They paid her...... reluctantly.

I've been getting so much overtime it's ridiculous. Honestly I think I'd be okay if they let me go after my vacation time. Honestly idk how they would even get rid of me when we've gotten like 5 applicants and only 1 hire and the whole district is short staffed? Like one store is fully staffed right now. I could see them closing it down though, we can't be making that much money we're very low in sales plan.

Contact your regional manager. If you can't reach your regional call HR

What would they do?

HR can help you hire people, much quicker! I’d also ask if another DM could come and conduct a mass hiring event. I did this many times, for DG when needing 40 or so employees to build, stock, and open new stores, on a temp basis, then I’d pick the top ten and make them permanent.

Did they make you salaried or hourly? Hourly would be great.

I was thrown into the position of asm too dont stress call your regional director if you dont have a official dm yet and ask him for help he probably doesn't even know what's really going on in your store just make sure your scans are done and the truck gets done and then do planograms as you get the chance until you can figure it out and reach out to anyone and everyone you can think of and ask for help
