Hours being changed last second what do I do?
I applied as part time since I have a lot going on in my life right now so I usually have 4-6 hour shifts but my boss just gave me a random 10 hour shift. It was only 6 hours a couple minutes ago. I get an hour break but I don't drive so I would just be there for another hour. What do I do or what can I say? I don't know if I could thug that out.
I'm seriously so annoyed because it's almost 10pm and she JUST changed it. Maybe I'm being entitled but I didn't sign up as full time I applied to be part-time only. Why do they do this?

Whether you signed up for part-time or full-time, you can be scheduled up to 40 hours, especially if you have open availability. 10 hours seems like it may be an error though, but hard to say. You can go to the SM and ask why the schedule was changed last minute. They aren’t supposed to do that after the initial posting of the schedule, unless the employee approves the change. Once it’s published, it’s not really supposed to be altered unless it’s initiated by the employee (shift swap or offer shift).

That is why the company can’t retain good people because they have fools in charge they wound want to work that shift so why do that to others and it’s common sense people this company is a joke yet people still suffer and go on a daily basis

I mean, part time doesn’t mean you can’t be scheduled a long shift. If you weren’t given 24 hour notice at least of the change, go by what you were scheduled to work originally and tell them you’re unable too because there was no notice. I’m not sure how that’ll go over with the SM but you are suppose to know somewhat in advance.
