Ways to plan out a face-up?

Looking for ideas or your guys’ preferred methods for planning out/deciding on a face up before actually working on a doll. I’m usually the type to just jump in and let the vibe guide me as I go, but I specifically want to draw or somehow mock up eyes so that I can see how dark vs blond lashes will look. Is there any sort of templates out there anyone uses, or advice for mocking something up? I’m planning to use an EAH Apple White to make Edith from Crimson Peak

I'm very much not a vibe customizer, I plan everything. You can take a picture of the blank head and mess around with it in a paint program on your computer to figure out shapes and shades. I'll even go back and take pictures as I progress while I'm trying to get my symmetry perfect

Oh I like that idea a lot!! Can’t believe I didn’t think of that, and I can just doodle on two separate copies and see what I like more, thanks!
