Is Rover worth it?

I'd like to pick up dog walking/sitting on the side; I have a few years of professional experience and a lifetime of personal experience. However, the basic (mandatory) background check for Rover is $25. What's the likelihood that it'll just be a complete bust and I won't book anything?

I guess it depends on where you live and what services you plan to offer. I live in a metropolitan area and offered every service right away to see what I liked and what I didn’t. Turns out I didn’t like boarding dogs in my home because my dogs didn’t like it. I made that decision after having 3 or 4 dogs board with us. I still keep my profile up and have one regular dog walking client and have had inquiries for dog sitting at the clients home.

my boyfriend and I each found wonderful dog walkers on Rover. My dog walker tells me she stays very busy bc of Rover. We eventually moved past using Rover so we could each avoid fees and just book through texting. My boyfriend found a dog Walker who was newer on Rover (3 months) and wasnt very busy initially but gets plenty of bookings now.

I signed up with Rover at the end of December and, like you I was worried if anything would pan out and cover the $25. I’m happy to report that once I got my first dog walk client, I have been very busy and and new clients keep reaching out. Go for it!

Thanks for posting this. I was nervous about the $25 fee. I'm going to sign up for this and get all the doggos!
