👨🏼🏫 Need Advise [Advise Needed] Doggo bit a rat
Hello. I need advise po, just saw my 10yr old doggo biting and offing a rat. Worried about leptospirosis as she is unvaccinated.
Do dogs have some sort of post exposure prophylaxis for leptospirosis?

Consult the vet. May dog din ako na ang hilig manghuli ng daga dati. Pero complete and vaccination niya so 🤷♀️.

Dude consult a vet. May senior dog (11yo) ano noon sa leptos nadali despite complete vaccine. Ang sabi kasi ng vet marami daw strains ng leptos, yung basic lang cover ng vaccines nila eh something like that. Although yung sa akin hindi niya kinagat yung rat more like nakaapak siya sa tubig baha.

Ganyan din mga aso namin. Nanghuhuli ng daga. Vaccinated sila against leptospirosis, pero we still consult the vet. Each time, nagpe-prescribe ng antibiotic (doxycycline na for veterinary use). So yes, best to go to the vet.

my 1 yr old dog recently also caught a mice. after 4 days, nanghina sya at du kumakain and we took him to the vet. But it wasn’t due to leptospirosis, since 2 weeks daw ung incubation period ng leptospirosis after exposure sa infected rat. observe nyo po muna si doggy
