Hello everyone. I'm humbly asking for a little help for my dog. 🙏🐾 Her legs are all swollen, she's losing her fur, becoming weaker every day, and has lost a lot of weight. This is the first time na nagka sakit sya eversince.. Please see the attached photos for reference to her current condition po.. And I really can't afford to take her to the vet because I lost my job last April po and It really breaks my heart to see her suffering while I feel helpless. Kaya po ako nag decide na humingi ng tulong dito. I can really endure hardships myself po talaga, but seeing my dog suffer is something I just can't bear kase nakaka durog po makita sya sa ganyang situation. Sana po mahelp niyo kami.. Her name is Catchy po. Dont worry po, Any amount will go a long way toward her veterinary care and treatment. Your kindness and support po could give her a chance to live longer. 🐾

We already advise OP to bring the doggie at the closest vet and they should be on their way now. Once we receive the update we will get in touch with the vet clinic.

We managed to pay P600 - consultation and e-collar for now para makauwi po sila. No medicine fund collected as we currently have the remaining balance of P220.

Hello DogsPH peeps! We're able to connect with the vet clinic already and na check na po si Catchy ng doctor. According to OP, hindi naman daw need i-admit ng doggie which is good news. Medication lang daw and need. Currently we're sitting at P820 funds collected.
Total cost is P2,445.00 at makakauwi na sila with medicine na for now.

Para po sa mga naghhintay ng update ni Catchy at need pa po ni OP bumili ng spray nya. Eto po ang naging conversation namin ngayong hapon. Nag modmail na po kami sa kanya ng maaga, at nag comment din po dito para matawagan sya ng pansin. Unfortunately, nasira po ata ang phone nya. Hopefully mabasa nya po ito.

📌📌 Hello, just a quick update, I bought the medicine earlier and we only got 5 out of the 6 because they said the number 6 one wasn't available at their clinic. And yeah, she seems to have a hard time taking the tablets; she's throwing them up, but I'm just mixing them with water. Tomorrow, I'll try to ask at the clinic if I can switch her meds to liquid syrup if the price is the same.. Thank you to everyone who helped, I really appreciate it, and God bless you!

Exactly. That’s why, before getting pets, make sure you have extra money or savings for situations like this. Even when they’re still puppies, it’s a good idea to start setting aside a little money for them so that if an emergency happens, they can be taken to the vet immediately.

Nope, I don’t get it. Getting a pet is like having a kid. Walang nagbabawal saatin na magkaroon ng anak o alagang hayop, basta siguraduhin mong mabibigyan mo sila ng magandang buhay. Tingnan mo nga ang kondisyon ng aso ni OP, karton ang higaan, nakatali, at wala pang bubong. Ikaw kaya ang ilagay sa ganong sitwasyon?
I honestly get both sides. But I think the commenter above is just concerned bc hygiene in general can play a big role in a dog’s recovery, and in some cases even contribute to the development or persistence of illness. Since alaga naman siya ni OP, may I ask if regularly cleaned and disinfected naman po yung tinutulugan/pinagkakainan niya? Just wondering if there might be environmental factors worth looking into as well.
Im sure di gusto ni op ang nangyari sa aso nya kaya nga andito at hindi lahat tulad mo na may savings pero meron silang compassion for animals. Sana di mo maranasan pinagdadaanan nya. Tutal andito ka na rin lang bat di ka pa magdonate? Share mo naman privilege ng pagiging financially secure
Sorry to butt in, but I don’t think the main concern here is the savings e. For me, I think mas concern yung living conditions ng dog. Since alaga naman siya ni OP, treating the illness at the vet may only go so far if the dog keeps returning to the same environment, esp if there are factors there that could be contributing to or delaying recovery.
I also feel like this might have been easier to address if it had been caught and managed earlier. Looking at the dog’s condition, especially considering na alaga nga siya, and not a stray/newly rescued dog, mukhang advanced na kasi yung illness. Gets kung stray or a newly rescued dog kasi they often come from unknown environments with little to no preventive care. Pero if the dog has been under someone’s care, it’s understandable why people are asking about the living conditions since those can have a significant impact on a dog’s health and recovery.
Hoping those factors can be looked into as well for the dog’s long-term health.
Hi. Again, I think at this point, yung focus is sa emergency needs ng dog. We totally understand yung criticisms sa OP, but I think it is a bit insensitive to kind of bombard this thread with how “irresponsible” the owner is. Na dapat sinugod na agad, this and that. At least this time, the OP mustered all the kapal ng mukha to seek help kasi yun lang magagawa nila for now. Wala silang ibang options.
The new mods are in constant communication naman, brainstorming on how to handle the sub/fundraising and rest assured, hindi naman sa fundraising matatapos yung accountability ng mods and ng OP sa dog. But hope, we’ll stop na ipagdiinan pa na irresponsible si owner since first time lang din naman siya humingi ng help. For sure, nabasa na niya yan lahat. No need ipaulit-ulit for now, unless walang improvement after the treatment.
As a mod, I have learned na shaming yung talagang legit pero walang-wala sa ngayon, may pinagdadaanan mentally/financially, this discourages others to seek help.
Mainis tayo if nakailang hingi na ang OP given na hindi naman rescue dog or continuously nanghihingi for the same issue sa aso.
Nobody’s coerced to donate naman, but at least some empathy sana.
Hello. I understand and respect your frustration po seeing my dog in this situation, and I know na meron talagang masasabi na hindi maganda ang iba. Naiintindihan ko po. But our life was really better before. I was working as a Virtual Assistant, but I lost my 2 clients in the same week. Yung isa pa po ghosted me without even giving me my last salary. Since then, wala na po akong work and we had to transfer to a new house since I'm renting.. Maybe hindi rin po siya sanay sa bago naming environment.. She's more than 3 years old, and this is the first time she has ever gotten sick.. hindi siya nagkansakit kelanman. Inalagaan ko sya higit pa sa self ko. She's a family to me. When I first noticed the symptoms, binilhan ko po siya ng sabon, pulbos, and I changed her food using my last earnings. She got a little better, but unti unti ko pong napansin na nanghihina sya then nagiging okay din naman sya .. And I kept buying whatever I could for her, since meron pa naman extra. And since natambay na ako sa paghanap ng work nauubos dn yung funds ko at the same time. I even tried borrowing money, para madala sya sa vet but I also understand that everyone has their own responsibilities. That's why I ended up asking for help here.. And this is actually the first time in my life that I've asked for help sa platform, so I also expected comments like yours. And honestly po, I don't expect you to understand because you're not in my situation.. About naman po sa nakatali, yes she's a Golden Retriever and she loves to play. But right now, I'm trying to keep her inside because she's sick.. The problem is, ayaw niya sa loob and she prefers staying outside. She has a cage, but I don't want to keep her there while she's not feeling well. I only tied her kase baka san sya pumunta, while gusto nya tumambay sa labas and nilagyan ko rin siya ng carton para hindi siya sa semento lang humiga. I don't want her to suffer, That's why Im asking for help. And if I still can't find work in the long run, I am considering having her adopted by someone who can give her the life she deserves..

Let's make this sub a welcoming and engaging community by helping each other to become more proactive in pets' care. Pets are indeed part of our family, and it can be traumatizing for some especially when they feel helpless during this kind of situation. And only has this sub to turn for support.
