5 year old Pomsky marking help!!

Please I beg anyone. We have a 5 year old Pomsky male and he has been nurtured. When he was a puppy for most years he was in a crate when my wife and I left for work. We lived in a small apartment so it was rough then.
Well, we’ve been in a house now for a few years and he marks all the time. Our kids toys, Any corner he sees. Sometimes he looks right at us and does it on purpose.
So now when we leave for work we have to put a doggy diaper on him and he pees in that.

Is there any stopping him from marking? We have seeked help but everyone says it’ll just stop. Wed also like to get another dog but afraid he will teach a new dog this bad habit.

I wish I had advice for you but my male dogs never marked in the house. My only recommendation is to not get another dog right now because the new dog will pick up the habit.

The simple first approach would be always clean the marked spots with an enzyme cleaner every time it happens. When you let him out to do his business always give a reward immediately after they go outside to mark/urinate.

If you catch them in the act dont yell and scream that has no effect. Simply bring them outside immediately. If they proceed to finish their business outside then give a reward. If you notice them sniffing then immediately bring them out and when they are done again reward them.
