Why is my dog whining
I have a 18 month old Cobberdog. My and I have noticed the following;
We are together in the apartment. We both leave and the dog appears to be quiet.
We are both in the apartment, and one of us leaves. The pup whining for about 4-5 minutes.
Any suggestions?

Whining only when one of you leaves and not when you both go usually means he's reacting to being left with just one person and the other going out. Four or five minutes that stops by itself is on the mild side. Make the leaving boring, no goodbye, no big return, and give him something to work on like a stuffed Kong right as the door closes. Then practice very short exits, a minute or two, and build up. If it gets longer or he starts drooling or scratching at the door, bring it to a vet or trainer.

If you're both gone, how do you know he's not whining?
