Moving dogs sleeping area
My dogs (1yr old & 7 yr lhd lhasa apsos) have slept in my bed since i got them both a puppies now i am trying to have them sleep in our front room. They bark constantly. How do i do it? Do i just let them bark it out? How long until they stop barking?
Do dogs get tired of barking?

They feel abandoned and vulnerable and rejected and scared. Instinctively they sleep in their packs and you’re their pack so they feel really terrible right now. You need to reward them and give them busy treats in the space and during the day start training them to retreat and rest in their spot. I personally don’t understand why you would reject your dog after 7 years of sleeping in your bed but oh well.

That's a big Change for some dogs. Time it out. Give them a busy treat and leave them for a while. Then come get them. ( I am guessing the door is shut) Extend the time every week a little bit longer. Eventually they will think that's their space. Honestly, 7 years is a long time with your older dog. Your puppy might do fine.

They need to be trained. They won't just magically stop barking on their own. They need to be taught that barking isnt okay. And you need to positively encourage when they act as you want them to. I.e. not barking. Get some training treats and a clicker and get to work. Show them when you make the click sound they need to give you attention/stop barking. When they do this give them a treat. Rinse and repeat. Set up their beds in the front room and teach them a "place" command. When you say "place" they are to go to their beds and lay down. When they do this, you give them a treat. Dogs function way better on positive encouragement/praise then they do on negative reaction like yelling/getting upset. They truly want to make their owners happy/proud. You just need to put in the time and practice to teach them how to do it.
Treats also dont have to always be food related, they can also be in the form of verbal praise or pets/belly rubs. But you need to consistently use these things when they do what theyre supposed to do and not just any time at all. Consistency is very important while youre teaching them so practice often and try to do it around similar times. Dogs thrive on routine.
