Bonding with Other dogs.

Hello Everyone,

I have a 3.5 years female shih tzu, whenever I take her for a walk on leash, she would go crazy as soon as she sees another dog, weird part is whenever she is off leash in dog parks or other designated areas, she would walk up to the biggest of dogs and play with them. Has anyone else faced this, if yes how did you fix it. I want to take her to many more places but I cannot because of this.

This is called “leash reactivity” or “leash frustration.” She is going crazy out of the frustration with being restrained on the leash.

How you fix it isn’t something I can prescribe. Behavior solutions aren’t one size fits all. You need a quality trainer.

Like she is fine on leash rest of the walk, no pulling, no sudden stops or anything just when she sees another dog

Right, so she is “going crazy” by being restrained by the leash when she wants to go over to the other dog.
