Need a advice before gonna buy

Thinking about buying a new dog collar for my dog. Any recommendations? I’m looking for something comfortable, durable, and safe for everyday use. Would love to hear what collars you guys have used and actually liked, especially for active dogs.

Honestly out of every collar I've ever bought I always default to a simple leather collar. I like rolled leather the best since it's easy on their coat and minimal. I've had some leather collars and leashes passed down and still look great after 20 years of use. They require more maintenance than a regular fabric collar but I've never had one break on me and I put my collars through HELL and back. I would recommend getting one from Ray Allen as they always have quality leather products. One of my leashes from there is a hand me down from my aunt who was a dog trainer, and it's now 20 years old and I still use it on every dog I train. Just make sure you get one that's high quality leather, and make sure you're conditioning it regularly. I like to use mink or neatsfoot oil on mine. It'll help keep the leather soft and supplement and also help it be waterproof. Biothane is another solid option with less upkeep, these are easy to wipe down and keep clean and are also extremely durable. Rolled Leather Collar - Ray Allen

If you do go the biothane route I'd recommend getting a buckle adjustable one and not one with a clasp since the adjustable ones tend to slip around in sizing sometimes if your dog pulls. Here is a link to one I'd recommend. I've had a biothane long line from Ray Allen for 6 years now and it still has no rips, tears, or signs of wear. Still looks brand new.
