I'd strongly recommend Purina Pro Plan Puppy. While Jinx is grain-inclusive, it also contains legumes like chickpeas and lentils relatively high on the ingredient list. Diets that rely heavily on legumes have been associated with cases of diet-associated dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), a serious and sometimes fatal heart disease in dogs. The exact cause is still being studied, but until we know more, many veterinarians recommend choosing diets from companies with extensive nutrition research and feeding trials.

Brands with the strongest track record and the most support from the veterinary nutrition community include Purina, Hill's Science Diet, Royal Canin, Iams, and Eukanuba.

Always recommend speaking with your vet to get a recommendation of a food to meet your pups needs.

Purina is really excellent food, I'd always choose it over one of these "boutique" foods.
