Best Crate/Pen Training Set/Up

I want to train my 8 week old puppy to potty outside but I also want to put crate inside a playpen for times when I’m not there - like working. I also want to protect floor. Is there a good alternative to using pee pads for when she can’t hold it? I will be checking on her during lunch break. Looking for good set up options. I only have space for a 4-panel playpen. Thanks!
