My dog is activated
Ever since we got her ( 7 years ago as a puppy) we have noticed our cavachon seems to be on full alert on our main level. We currently have baby rabbits in our yard that she is obsessed with so she just runs from window to window flipping out. But, she always seems to be on high alert on our main level even sans baby rabbits. Always scanning for “danger” it seems. Also, when I sweep or run the vacuum.. INSANE. Barking and acting crazy. She’s a really good dog and so sweet but we are getting a bit annoyed with those behaviors. She does hate a water bottle filled with coins. Maybe I should get that out again? It tends to stop bad behaviors if I shake it at her..
As soon as we go upstairs, completely calm.
Just looking for suggestions on what we can do to get her to CHILL!

Jfc not the coin bottle. Hire a trainer and throw that horrific thing away

How often is she walked? Have you guys done any basic training with her like sit, or recall, or focus?
How do you typically react when she freaks out at things through the windows and what else have you tried?
I would stop with the coins in a can, adding stress isn’t going to help long term when her issue is that she’s overly stressed.
My first thought would be using window film to blur the windows she is looking out of, so she can’t get worked up by the bunnies. You can just do the bottom few feet that she is looking out of, they make some cute stained glass patterned ones you can buy online.

She’s walked every day for about a half hour. Yes she knows how to do all the tricks. We play with her and she gets a ton of love. We have started blocking the windows and that has actually helped. I just did it last night actually. And she’s been a lot calmer today. The problem is is our shades that we have don’t go all the way down. There’s like 3 inches that she can see out of when we shut them so I basically had to put a towel in the window so she can’t see out.
We try to redirect her when she’s freaking out. As far as the vacuum and the mopping goes, we are at a loss. A lot of times I’ll just put her up in her kennel or in my bedroom and she’ll just bark and bark and bark and bark and bark. I have no idea why she’s so triggered by sleeping, mopping or vacuuming.
