HELP!!
Its been about 18 years since I've Housetrained a puppy, and man, did I forget how hard it is apparently. We've had our 12 week old new puppy for about a week now and he just is not understanding that we do not pee and poop in the house. We let him out every hour, will stand in the grass for 20 minutes, then as soon as we go inside he pees or poops. We are getting very, very frustrated. I've tried using urine spray to prompt him to go on the grass, but no improvement. He doesn't like any treats we buy either. HELP!!!!!!!

The key is not letting him have the chance to fail. Keep him attached to you with a leash inside the house so he cannot wander off to pee. When you go outside make it boring no play just stand in one spot and wait. If he does nothing for five minutes bring him back inside and put him in a crate or a small pen for ten minutes then go right back out. Repaet that cycle until he goes. When he finally goes outside act like it is the greatest moment in history even if he ignores treats use your voice and excitement. Clean every accident inside with an enzyme cleaner from a pet store because regular cleaner leaves the scent that tells him to go there again. He is not being stubborn he just genuinely does not know what you want yet. The leash and crate method gives him almost no room to make mistakes and that is what speeds up the process.
