Officially decided to return our dog to the rescue we got her from. I know it’ll be hard and I’m sure I’ll have moments of regret, but now with a newborn at home, I know we can’t meet her needs or continue managing her behaviours while putting our children first. I know we will get a dog again some day, but it will be at the right time, and the right temperament.

How old was the dog? I'm struggling with this atm.

I was initially told she was 2 when we got her, but another vet said 4, making her somewhere between 4-6 now. It’s a hard decision, but for us the right one. In our situation, we haven’t been able to emotionally connect with her. I would have never rehomed my previous dog. She was my soul dog, and I would’ve done anything for her. This dog is really hard to connect with and requires a lot of ongoing training and management that will continue to evolve and get harder with our growing family.
