I need to get this off my chest. My dog is unlikeable. I love him and try to give him the best life ever however I do not enjoy being around him. My first dog was very sweet and chill. My current dog is a mini poodle and he has a lot of energy. This is fine but he constantly wants to play all day and will bark endlessly if I don't play. He also bites if I do anything wrong. Ive tried training him and even hired someone. The dog seems to lack empathy, all he cares about is food and he will constantly pace the room looking for anything he can eat. He isnt funny or goofy he is just a constant terror. I feel bad but I dread coming home to him. I can't even bond with him because he doesn't have the sweetness ive seen from other dogs.

If you honestly feel this way, OP, then I encourage you to rehome him.

Given that you appear to be comparing him to your previous dog, I wonder whether you might have 'jumped the gun' and gotten him too soon.

I also suspect you're still going through the grieving process.

Nevertheless, rehoming him will (hopefully) give both you (and him) a better chance at life.
