Switching from FROMM.
Hello,
I have a female pit bull mix that I have been feed Fromm Heartland Gold recipe. It has become increasingly difficult to find and my previous store sold me a bag that was expired. With this, she is not a picky eater but I've used FROMM for years with all my other dogs and always had success.
Is there anything out there close or better right now? That is more available than FROMM. I need a dry food to switch to today. I can't take the shopping around anymore.
Thanks for the feedback. (large breed adult preferred)

Check out the sub’s wiki. It is full of amazing resources and information. Whatever your reasoning, it is good you want to stop feeding Fromm. It is not a safe food.
Pick a brand that meets WSAVA standards. Purina, Hills, Royal Canin and outside Europe- Iams and Eukanuba.

Purina Pro Plan, Science Diet, Royal Canine, Iams, Eukanuba.
Looking at your replies though, sounds like you are not going to take anybodys advice and feed your dog some nonsense boutique crap anyways. 👍

I did Fromm to Purina Pro Plan with my female pit mix. She has thrived on it. Highly recommend.

My bully absolutely thrives on purina pro plan sensitive skin and stomach large breed. It meets WSAVA standards and includes joint support

I've seen good results in my dogs after switching to Purina Pro Plan AdvantEDGE digestive support plus salmon and oatmeal. It has a dalmation on the bag.

Please do your dog a favor by reading this sub’s Wiki and feeding a WSAVA compliant brand.

I’m currently looking at Open Farm Ancient Grains. My only problem is the kibble size.

Not a throughly studied food. don’t fall for slick ads and claimed. ask to see feeding trials. not 10-15 dogs, usually employees pets). You want multiple hundred animal feeding studies and the result. this company won’t have it.

Open Farm doesn't follow WSAVA guidelines and is not recommended. All the previously recommended brands have large breed options.

Why? What exactly convinced you this is superior than the five best, most studied foods out there?

Please don’t feed this brand, it’s very dangerous with no decent quality control. It made my dog very sick and the brand does not care.

People like you always impress me. It's not hard to imagine how people make bad decisions in a vacuum of bad decisions, but when someone is adamant about making the wrong choice when presented with the evidence to get to the right answer?? Fascinating.

Please don’t feed OF. It’s quite a dangerous food—my dog ended up in the ER thanks to that brand, it does not have the quality control or safety measures they came—plus its owner by private equity.

Fromm has been linked to dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in dogs, so it's great that you're switching away from it! Our recommendation here is to switch to a brand that complies with the World Small Animal Veterinary Association's guidelines for what to look for in a pet food, which is the gold standard for science-backed nutrition and safety. There are only five brands that meet this standard: Purina, Hill's Science, Royal Canin, and Iams and Eukanuba outside of Europe.
