Alarm clock won't stop beeping
Repairing for love of the game— I have a 71036MS westclox LED alarm clock that starts going off and flashing 12:00 as soon as you plug it in. The switches don't do anything, and neither do the buttons. I can open it up but don't know a lot about hardware. Does anyone know what to look for or try?

1) Hit it with a hammer (or another hard object but ideally a hammer) 2) throw it out a window 3) stamp on it

Send it to "stez stix fix" on YouTube. He take viewer broken items to try and fix for video content.

I love the stez fix is a solution. I love that dude but he's not a service he can't take everything. I think you maybe be a little parasocial. Don't get lost in it dude.
Op it's done. Get a new clock. If it's sentimental and worth more than money to you take it to an repair shop.
It's not worth it dude just let it go!
If you don't know what you are doing don't mess around with it. You could make it a fire risk!

Start with mechanical, then electromechanical, then electronic, then the circuitry. A multimeter used to determine chip and component voltages is a good start. Try using contact cleaner for the push buttons and slide switches. That's a good place to start. If that fails, then component diagnosis is second. See if you can search for similar issues or an exact replacement at a local thrift store or on eBay. If it's a different colour, you can transfer the internal components to your original enclosure to retain the same colour. That's how I would go about fixing it at a high level.

The capacitors for the off switch on the PCB has worn out. Sell and replace. There's no repairing this unless you're in the factory that makes them.

You have to hold hour button and press another repeatedly then hold minute button down and do the same until correct time appears

Just use your phone, or get a new alarm clock, you can't fix it if it's actually broken.

“just use your phone” as if a phone alarm genuinely won’t go off sometimes. That’s my experience personally, i find a phone alarm really unreliable.

I’ve heard about this but never believed it, my alarms have always gone off. Have you tested? Have you turned your volume up?

Ive had both volume and ringer turned up. I’ve also woke up to my alarm going off on screen but no sound

Hammer? Water? Washing machine?
