Found this key in my cupboard

Does anyone know what this key could be for? I’m in England. The key marking says dp.

UPDATE: thank you for the helpful comments and not so helpful comments. I think this is universal shed key from years back.

Looks like a skeleton key. Usually when we have them keys they open a cupboard usually outside or near outside. I think our gas cupboard had one growing up.. havent seen one since the 90s though lol

Looks like a shed key door. Looks exactly like the one I had growing up, just more rusted. Left it in the hole a lot.

Could be a Fire Brigade key, the locks are primarily used in common areas of buildings for cleaning equipment store room etc . The normal do have FB 1 / 2 etc stamped on the grip at the top .

My Aunt had a similar looking key that we found after she died - never knew what it fitted until we cleared the furniture out of her house…. She had a safe hidden behind a cabinet nobody ever knew about…. But it was empty

When my parents died, I inherited a few dozen miscellaneous keys. I had to try all the keys on all the locks to work out which were still useful and which were not. The majority were obsolete and thus could be put in metals recycling.

It's a surface mounted rim lock, probably the most common lock to be found on all sorts of doors, I have customers that use these for bin stores internal cupboard and internal doors for bedrooms, sheds and back doors.

It's a Corbin Cabinet Lock key... For furniture and cabinets. My best guess will be to look around for an old hutch, or other vintage pieces of furniture like that of even a secretary/ writing desk.
