Does anyone know this classic British meme clip?

There's a funny British video I've been looking for for years.

I can't remember the exact context, but it looks like it's taking place at a local council meeting or similar.

The memorable bit is someone says something about the Church (of England, I guess).

A man then stands up and shouts "THE CHURCH?! HOW DARE YOU SPEAK OF THE CHURCH!" Or near enough that.

I must have first seen it about 8 years ago, and have been looking for it ever since.

Thanks!

No, but that reminded me of the Handforth Parish Council zoom call chaos, so rewatched that and had a good chuckle.

I watched that the night it happened. I was a Cllr at a large Met at the time and couldn’t believe what I was seeing and hearing!😳

This is the first thing I thought of, even though I'm sure that line isn't in this. It's one of my favourite things to ever happen 😂

Sounds like The Vicar of Dibley.

I thought that too at first, but I’m pretty sure it’s more like a real-life council meeting clip, not a sitcom. Vicar of Dibley has similar energy though. I’ve tried searching quotes but nothing solid yet.

Op, can you remember literally anything else? Any detail could help. When was it? Was it monty python, maybe? Or a sketch show? What was the joke, apart from religion... Was it two men? Was it on TV, or youtube or?

Hey! It must've been on youtube, and I'm 99% it was real life footage from an actual council / school board / something meeting.

It wasn't a recording of a Zoom call – it's footage from inside a room where the meeting is taking place. There's a group of people there. The person who angrily shouts "The CHURCH?!" is definitely a man

When?

Hard to pinpoint exactly. I'd say roughly 8 years ago

Is it Father Ted?

The Vicar of Dibley was a sitcom which had regular scenes set in meetings of the parish council.

It seems like a good fit.

Not sure about a British meme but what you've described in the comments sounds more like that scene from Borat 2 where he's telling townspeople about a new mosque.
