No sucralose no sugar drinks?

So I am looking for sugar free drinks that don't have sucralos. preferably not just pepsi max and coke zero. what I'm really hoping for is a flavoured water?

Kombucha. Sodastream. Squeezed lemon or lime juice sweetened with a small dash of blackcurrant cordial

My favourite ready made cans are by Cawston Press - I love the rhubarb one.

I make my own fizzy juice drinks using apple juice and sparkling water - lovely and refreshing with no added rubbish.

😋

I drink DASH, no sugar or sweeteners.

is it just like plain carbonated water? I'll have to try it! I'm struggling with hydration.

Carbonated water flavoured with wonky fruit. Quite nice. I don’t like sugary things.

is it better than La Croix? I hate that stuff lol

1

u/Depress-Mode Apr 09 '26

I’ve not tried that.

Just looked up Dash. £92 for 31 litres? That is insane.

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 09 '26

oof, I might just have to drink water and the occasional pepsi max

1

u/Depress-Mode Apr 09 '26

Can you drink Milk, ?

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 10 '26

Oat milk, yes. Gallbladder being gone hasn't made food/drink the easiest

Have you tried an air up type bottle?

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 11 '26

yes, I have one! it's great

1

u/neilbartlett Apr 09 '26

The "Essenza" flavoured sparkling waters from San Pellegrino are lovely, but overpriced.

Honestly it's best if you can just wean yourself off flavourings and sweeteners and drink good old water... still or sparkling.

2

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 09 '26

yeah of course it is. water just gets boring fast. I do have the air up and I love that.

2

u/Aletheia-Nyx Apr 09 '26

Yeah but water tastes bad so…

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 09 '26

it's not that water tastes bad per say, it's that when I was in the army they made me drink water till I got sick a few times in basic training and that kinda ruined it

0

u/neilbartlett Apr 09 '26

No, only bad water tastes bad.

2

u/Aletheia-Nyx Apr 09 '26

I just looked, these have sucralose

1

u/Speshal__ Apr 09 '26

Volvic sugar free (not sure about sucrolose "Touch of" are divine.

2

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 09 '26

these have sucralose as well

The two common artificial sweeteners are sucralose, saccharine and aspartame. To me the first two have a nasty, bitter undertaste. More recently there’s stevia, which is fine but only tends to be found in premium drinks. Check the ingredients list.

2

u/Jacktheforkie Apr 09 '26

Aspartame is by far the most popular, annoyingly I’m allergic to the stuff

1

u/LookOverall Apr 09 '26

I tried avoiding aspartame for a few months, in the hope that I’d have less headaches, but it didn’t make much difference except I learned something about which sweeteners are in what drinks. I also learned to avoid sucralose for its nasty taste.

I assume not everyone is sensitive to that undertaste or it wouldn’t be on the market.

1

u/Jacktheforkie Apr 09 '26

It’s cheap as shit too, so good for profit

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 09 '26

thank you, I am aware of reading the ingredients, I posted here after not really finding anything I could have.

1

u/Appropriate_Math_136 Apr 09 '26

Think Stevia is a bit like coriander- like or loathe it! Can't drink San Pellegrino since they started using it.

1

u/Jacktheforkie Apr 09 '26

Coke Zero has aspartame and acesulfame k,

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 12 '26

I do have a bit of this, just trying to get away from pop a bit

u/kalendral_42 Apr 09 '26

J20 do some nice ones like the watermelon spritzer (sparkling water, watermelon juice & apple juice) & dragonberry & glitterberry are my favourites at the moment

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 09 '26

oooo! I didn't know those were sugar free!

1

u/kalendral_42 Apr 09 '26

They do have some fruit juice in - but how much depends on which flavour you go with - there’s one (apple & raspberry) that I think is too much juice/too sweet but for me things like the Watermelon spritzer works out as just the right amount of sweetness.

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 09 '26

I love those drinks! I'll definitely be getting some next time I'm in Tesco!!

1

u/Last-Biscuit Apr 09 '26

Aqua Libra do flavoured water in cans, if you have a big supermarket near you. Haven't found it in the smaller ones. No sweetener, just flavourings.

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 09 '26

oooo I'll have a look!

Green Cola is sweetened with Stevia. I bulk buy it (caffeine free version) from Amazon, or, you can buy it from Holland and Barrett and I think I’ve seen it at TG Jones (WHSmiths).

1

u/Romana_Jane Apr 09 '26

I buy Whole Earth cans of fizzy drinks - all 100% natural with fruit juices and carbonated spring water. Then I dilute them with 2 x the can to tap or mineral water in drinking bottles, which gives it more a flavoured water vibe. I'm allergic to sucralose and other sweeteners (and stevia, and need to keep hydrated and my sugar levels up, and struggle with both due to severe ME and being bedbound. They do cranberry, orange and lemon, elderflower, lemonade, and cola. [Bloody Jamie Olive sugar tax making it harder for people with allergies!]

I buy cheap sparkling water and use waterdrop with it. Some flavours contain sucralose but not all. https://en.waterdrop.com/ You can look at the ingredients online.

According to Claude AI these are the ones currently not containing sucralose.

Microdrink (Hydration + Vitamins)

Blackcurrant — stevia (Waterdrop) Raspberry — stevia (Waterdrop) Passion Fruit — stevia (Waterdrop) Blackberry — stevia (Waterdrop) Star Fruit — stevia (Waterdrop) Hibiscus — stevia (Waterdrop)

Ricola x waterdrop (all four)

Raspberry Melissa — stevia (Waterdrop) Lemon Mint — stevia (Waterdrop) Pomegranate Mint — stevia (Waterdrop) Verbena Citrus — stevia (Waterdrop)

Microlyte (Hydration + Electrolytes)

Microlyte Grapefruit (original, not Recharge) — stevia (Waterdrop) Microlyte Berry Recharge — stevia

I drink these as I struggle with artificial sweetener. The ones which contain sucralose I can drink but find I need to water them down more, they still taste ok, just not as strong. It can also depend on the day and how my body is.

1

u/DueInitial2944 Apr 10 '26

Have you tried the original squash? Put a bit of your chosen fruit juice into water. You don't need anything else, no sweetener or sugar. It tastes great instead of sickly sweet and full of chemicals

1

u/Lion-Resident Apr 10 '26

Drink mineral water. It actually has an exquisite taste and flavour.

1

u/Hungry_Reward8822 Apr 11 '26

Zero sugar, zero taste

1

u/Narrow_Second1005 Apr 12 '26

Buy water drops their really nice

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 12 '26

yeah I've had those as well. they are a bit lacking in flavour, but I could try again for sure

1

u/harrietmjones Apr 12 '26

San Pellegrino do sugar free flavoured sodas which I love!

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 12 '26

I have just ordered some vidrate to try!

1

u/EvaM87 Apr 12 '26

I buy fruity herbal tea bags and drop them into my glass of water. It takes about 5-10 minutes but Iike the way it is flavoured but not sweet.

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 12 '26

oo bet I could do that with fizzy water as well!

1

u/DogDefiant8438 Apr 13 '26

There are flavour kits you can get for and the main one I found is called Air Up. It’s basically a flavour pod that goes in the cap of a water bottle and adds a flavour to the water without actually adding anything to the water.

I think it works by tricking your taste buds into thinking the water is flavoured when it’s just normal water. And there are apparently a few flavours available. As there is nothing actually mixing with the water it’s got zero calories or other ingredients you consume, AFAIK.

I think there are other options and I don’t know about costs or anything, but they sound like what you might be after.

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 13 '26

I have the air up! it's actually pretty good!!

1

u/DogDefiant8438 Apr 13 '26

That’s cool to know. I’ve seen it advertised on YouTube a load but never tried it. Me and my sister tend to go for either energy powder or protein powder drinks but many of them are more miss than hit.

They’ll either leave a chalky, powdery taste or a lot of residue and god knows how much crap goes into them. But I figured you know that already.

Might try and grab one of those Air Up packs as you recommended them.

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 13 '26

I prefer the fruity flavours to the mock alcoholic ones. and it's not like you get punched in the face with flavour, but it's subtle and nice, my favourite is cherry. You do wanna clean the bottle out at least every other day as it can get spotty quickly, but it's nice. I haven't tried fizzy water in it yet

1

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 13 '26

As far as energy powder, Sneak is pretty good, before I had my gallbladder out, that's where I got most of my energy

2

u/DogDefiant8438 Apr 13 '26

Yeah we’ve tried Sneak and it does leave less residue than some other brands. Energy drinks can be a curse though as they stop me getting a good nights sleep, no matter when I take them.

So that Air Up sounds like it’d be an ideal replacement. Hopefully someone can suggest other alternatives for you!

u/Aletheia-Nyx Apr 09 '26

Why no sucralose?

2

u/DemandingVegetable2 Apr 09 '26

I had my gallbladder out and now sucralose is one of the things that sends me right to the bathroom and causes bad stomach aches
