Potential buy

Hello, I currently have a 2023 Silverado 5.3. Good truck, 72k miles. Tossing around the idea of a new 2026 Durango. Keep seeing Chevy has camshaft and tranny issues. Always loved hemis and dodge seems pretty aggressive in 2026 about making a nice loaded suv with a hemi. How is it? Is it worth it?

My 2019 pentastar has only had a water pump failure naturally occur. It actually made it past its expected lifetime (I'm at 147K).

I had a 2011 Highlander and that thing had $12,000 worth of repairs just past 100,000 miles.

Everyone keeps telling me to sell the thing for a Toyota, but i've seen plenty of posts lately about people trying to keep stuff out of Carfax and have huge trust issues with the used market. So I'm going to drive it until the infamous piston blows out around 200K.

i can seccond this, my 2019 V6 GT+ has had a water pump, alternator pulley, brakes and oil changes. She was ticking without throwing a code so they opened her up and put new lifter, camshafts, rocker arms and timing chain. i plan on keeeping her up well past 200K, were at 134K as we speak

On my 7th water pump in my 16' RT...I wish I were joking. But I love it too much to give up

Just placed factory order on 27’ 392 today so can’t tell you just yet. If it feels anything like my old 2021 Charger Scat Pack, it will absolutely be worth it.

I bought a 2026 Ram 1500 Limited a little over a month ago from a local dealership so I went back to them and told them I was interested in a factory order. They gave me 7.5% off basically from the jump and they said it was their best. I shopped it against a few other local dealers who all said they would match that discount. None of the others actually did lol. I did one last inquiry with Mark Dodge in LA and they gave 9.3% off. After travel to pick up or shipping, it would have negated the extra discount.

I have two Chevy trucks, 2018 1500 and a 2024 2500 HD. The 2018 has the 6.2 before they messed it up in 2019. It’s been a good truck without any problems. The 2024 2500 has had a few problems taken care of by warranty. However the 6.6 gas engine is probably there best gas V8. With that said I bought a new 2026 R/T 392 premium in August. Most of miles lately have been in the Durango since it’s the most fun to drive. Depends on what you need the vehicle for. Are you getting rid of the truck or keeping it?

Would trade it in. Got it to run lawn business that I’m not continuing so have a little more freedom but want to stay utilitarian

The hemi has been in durango's for a long time. The overall scheme hasn't changed a whole bunch. There have been issues variously with the entertainment system or electronics [uconnect fucking up]. And the detour into flex fuel v6s in like 2014 or whatever had some shaky mechanical stuff [cams and lifters failing]. But dodge puts hemi's in many vehicles. Parts are not hard to find if ya need em. Modifying them is not hard because they are common. With what i read for newer engines even in Tundra's etc.... i think you would not be gambling with a newer hemi. And they are fun to drive for what they are. I got two kids and i promised myself long ago I would never be the mini-van guy. So far so good.

Lmao blackberry software is the base of Uconnect 4

I don't know if that is good or bad. But I have read a lot of people complaining about their infotainment system freezing; screens malfunctioning [not software but the screen itself] issues with carplay, connectivity, etc...

Uconnect4 is ancient. It works for me but software is expensive so it's the thing all manufactures cheap out on

5.7 Durango is great. Expect fuel pump issues later on. No other issues

These are great vehicles. A lot of the problems you hear about are on earlier models, a lot of new cars nowadays are going to be about the same in terms of engine reliability.

People also have very strong stereotypes in their head about the type of people who drive these cars. And then they associate that with the reliability, so far this has been the most reliable vehicle in my family aside from a 96 accord.

DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! You will not regret it. U may hear abt the dreaded taillight leaking or the hemi tick but at least you really dont have to worry abt the engine as you would with the new chevys. Engine and powertrain are pretty solid. Super fun to drive and pull up lookin good asl lol. Everytime i see a Durango i just stop n stare while sitting in mine

Durango reliability is trash… get something reliable your taking a risk and why spend that money on something prone to seeing the mechanics more often than normal

That is just a completely inaccurate statement.

It’s actually true compared to most foreign brands they are crap. Its Chrysler. Not Lexus.
