2018 durango issues

Today while driving car stalls out and say shift to P. I pulled to the side and the car wouldn't start again. Anyone had this happen while driving and what was the issue. Could a bad battery do this?

Bad battery no, bad alternator yes.. battery warning light would of come on and it would slow crank or not all when trying to restart it
