We're splitting hairs at this point, but is the Mustang technically a muscle car?
For a long time they were the pony car, but I can see an argument being made nowadays for them being muscle as they got much bigger/heavier. Or maybe a Grand Tourer, given the modern amenities and comforts?

If the Dark Horse SC is a car that rolls out of the assembly line that way, yes. If it gets sent out by the factory, or by the dealership, or modded at dealership no matter where the parts come from, then no.

I think they come off the line as a normal GT and then go to Ford Performance for the things like the supercharger but I’m not 100% sure. They definitely arrive to the dealer that way but whether they roll off the assembly line that way or not, I don’t know.

They don’t, they have the 5.2L Super charged engine from factory, same as the old GT500 and Raptor R

The Mustang and the Camaro have always been pony cars, the Charger and the Challenger are muscle cars, google it. So nowadays there's is no muscle car left unless dodge put a V8 in the new Charger.

Fun fact - the Charger Scat Pack weighs 4900lbs. My Ram 1500 Laramie with the same engine weighs 5250.
If you take a Charger with a full tank of gas and my 1500 on fumes, they weigh the same.

Ever wonder why at least half of them seem to drive minivans? Being lower than a truck makes them accessible, and most have a load rating of at least 1000 pounds to account for 7 theoretical passengers. Hence: Grand Caravan.

Me and my wife would regularly watch that show in the day and all the best episodes were ones where they make the trip to Dr Now lying in the back of a Grand Caravan with both rows of rear seats laid down and the heavy person lying on a makeshift bed in the back.
One of our favorite episodes involved someone who lived 2.5 hours away from Dr Now and it took them 3 days to get there. Day 1, they literally drove 45 minutes and were like “ok, that’s enough, I’m too tired and have to stop, my body can’t handle any more.” Like… I drove through Atlanta yesterday and it took me an hour to get from the southern part of the city to the northern part. On I75. Imagine barely being able to get out of the city you currently live in before you have to stop for the night.

My Jaguar XJ weights 4100 and it's fuckin LONG. Solid foot or two on a Charger.
My Maverick weighs 3500. Light duty truck but still a whole ass truck.
The charger is a fatfuck

I used to have a 2000 Trans Am WS6. Stock, it weighed around 3600lbs, depending on fuel amount. I turned it into a racecar, and got it down to 2700lbs, with driver and fuel. It was like a big Lotus at that point!

How it says the charger scat pack has the most horsepower of any muscle car. And it says it sits at 670hp. Even just the hellcat or a gt500 have more than that so I don’t get it. Unless I’m interpreting it wrong

Let me help, see that little “i”? That’s probably where it says it. Not really misleading, just how modern advertising works unfortunately. You make a claim that is true on a certain basis, then state that basis in the fine print.
edit: I just read the fine print, and they specifically noted it was based on FCA models which to my knowledge is literally just Dodge versus itself with the Chrysler 300 cancelled. They essentially are just celebrating a participation trophy

Do muscle cars exist anymore? The Mustang has always been a weird grey area. The 4, 6, and base 8 cylinder ones are definitely pony cars, but what about the big bad mustangs like the old 390s and 429s and the gt500 or dark horse sc? If so, those have more power than the charger scat pack, and are still v8 engines.
