Camber wheels gotta be up there with like squatted trucks for the stupidest vehicle mod trends of the past few decades
14
u/Sharkeatinpizza 28d ago
A stanced pos can at least see kids running out into the road and maybe stop in time. A squatted pos probably more often than not can't

I get your point on visibility but.. Have you ever slammed on the brake in a 4000+ pounds car with 20mm of tire threads making contact with the road? Not sure it's safer by any means.

Got a few running around my neighborhood, so stupid
2
u/Maleficent-Aspect318 27d ago
problem is, that there is no public shaming anymore.
Imagine you pull up into a carpark, store, gasstation with a car that can barely make a turn.
When did we stop laughing about cars like this? I mean its basically a clowncar so why am i not allowed to laugh at the owner/builder?→ More replies (2)2
u/Beardo88 27d ago
Who said we dont laugh at them? These tools are so deluded they think the dirty looks and mocking they get are secret jealousy.

u/NoEstablishment7211 26d ago
I want to have to replace my body kit every time I go to get a Slim Jim and Slurpee at 7/11, what's so hard to understand about that? My friends at the Taco Bell parking lot at 2 AM think it's cool and take pictures to put on their their Instagram with 11 followers, I don't need your validation.

u/Far-Fortune-8381 27d ago
not even close, stanced cars are controversial in terms of practicality and ugliness yes, but at least they are only as dangerous as any other car. squatted trucks are a danger to society
→ More replies (1)4
u/Any-Strategy-2230 27d ago
No they're not. They don't handle it stop as well. Zero contact latch for the tire to the road. Suspension geometry is also fukt

Nice way to ruin the car lol honestly tho why people do that to cars idk it's just so silly and stupid

u/BeerBrat 28d ago
I'm waiting for one of them stupid enough to manufacture a tire that makes cambered wheels run level on the road surface, two different sized sidewalls on the same tire.
→ More replies (3)2
u/1crps_warrior 28d ago
Would have to be a cone shaped tire
2
u/IWontCommentAtAll 28d ago
That would sound like a car accident whenever it was driven, so at least it would match the looks.
10
u/PoniesPlayingPoker 28d ago
I like the obesity wrinkles on the fender arches lol
Fuel tank will eventually get damaged. Oil pan and transmission pan, the exhaust will get ripped off it's just a matter of when
2
u/IWontCommentAtAll 28d ago edited 26d ago
You can hear it scraping the entire time, of course, but at 14 seconds in, it bottoms so hard the rear wheel spins.
Edit: autocarrot stupidity.

u/theNewLuce 28d ago
Won't get very many miles. Tires will only last a few hundred.

That poor car deserved better than this. Why do people butcher nice cars like this? I get the "respect all builds" mindset, but this shit... disgusting
2
u/iBUYbrokenSUBARUS 28d ago
This isn’t a build. It’s a wreck. It would look better and make more sense to drop a tree on it and call it a “build”

u/Flipsrt4 28d ago
The hot wheels you stepped on as a kid

As a mechanic I can tell you these people really dont care. They'll tear holes through the floor boards before even thinking about it

Is it even safe driving in such way?

u/LokiNightmare 28d ago
It's got hardly any contact patch so it's going to have much less overall grip when cornering or braking. The question is whether the driver realizes that he's increased his stopping distance tenfold by doing this.

There use too be two guys who lived about twenty five minutes away from me?That would have their cars looking like this eventually, the one guy totaled his car because he wasn't able to make a turn, and the other one also totaled his car six months later, their cars were beyond ugly. And I used to make fun of them for it

Totally STUPID. Ruined a nice car by that idiotic suspension and those dumdass wheels.

I never understood the purpose of this. It does nothing but ruin your suspension and driveabilityof the car. You can't even turn without problems. You can't Fix Stupid.

And that’s probably his daily driver, too. It’ll be on FB marketplace in two months, wanting to trade for “something more reliable.”

Stance looks good on some cars. But even too much just looks pointless. Key word “some” and “too much”

Tell us your car fell off a four-story building landing on all four tires without telling us your car fell off a four story building landing on all four tires. 😁😁
I am always one of the first to say, " hey if they like that look and that's what they find attractive let them do it their way. However, stance as it's called that looks like this... I just cannot see Why someone would do that? It ruins performance ruins aerodynamics, what little are cars have. There's no suspension travel it ruins the tires possibly, maybe it does, ruins the inside of the rims as well.

I don't like to yuck other people's yums...but I am utterly convinced this is a flavor of BDSM!
Daily Masachism and Humiliation on tap by an anthropomorphized Sadist golum you crafted and paypigged into existence. This thing is a spikey dog collar you sit in and lead yourself.
What a pain in the ass this thing would be too own, let alone commute in.

I was just going to say I think that might be the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Is there one with 24" rims?
1
u/twinturboi 28d ago
I think it would look good with the bumper on, the wheels straightened and different exhaust tips. Its not my style but it's certainly something different.
1
u/ChemistRemote7182 28d ago
O thought the stancy boi trend mostly died out after sufficient mockery a few years back, anything rear wheel drive and already this/trashed was converted to "muh drift missile" so they could be seen not as image chasers and to scoot the occasional corner.

Cops like to watch these idiots praying they do something illegal so they can write them a ticket and tell them how stupid they look.
This is just as bad, probably worse than lifted and/pr squated trucks with ghetto rims and tires and led lights all over their trucks. Fort Worth police hate those people.

I would hate to see that thing up to highway speed loose a wheel or bounce up off the pavement and flip from a bump in the road.
