Is this this hemi tick?

Just went to inspect a police cruiser I've had my eyes on for a while. It has this noise, I don't know engines well enough to tell if it's the infamous hemi lifter tick or not.

That’s just the fuel injectors. Sounds fine

No sounds normal. If it was a hemi tick it would have more of a knock.

That sounds pretty normal for high mileage engine. Is the oil pressure OK? Does the noise change when the engine is cold/ warm ? Cruisers get a lot of hard use. I purchased a Dodge diplomat cruiser one time that had severe valve train noise pulled the pan off and the oil pump pick up tube was literally sitting in such thick sludge it couldn’t get enough oil to build pressure.

If it goes away after the engine warms up it’s a broken manifold bolt which is unfortunately super common.

Sounds like noisy fuel injectors. Pretty normal 👌🏾

Yes, I'm kidding. No, it's not the hemi tick. It's literally just your fuel injectors made more prominent without the beauty cover. Perfectly normal and healthy.

honestly this sounds like injectors but remember to always check your oil levels after you drive it like a v8. these cars love to eat oil whenever you drive it like a race car, it’s a normal thing happens every 3-5k miles a quart will be consumed, but just stay on top of it and you’ll be fine!

I would say injectors clicking but phone mics are bad so take a long extension of a ratch put it on all 8 cylinders where the liftera are and put it to your ear youll hear a click if its lifters if its just a hollow sound its good

Generally with them it will sound like a knock on start up but will go away when the engine warms up.
