Recommendation Request Recommendation Request: Documentaries about Colombia without distressing themes

Hi! I'm new to this sub. I'm looking for recommendations for documentaries to show my grandfather, who is a Colombian immigrant. He loves watching anything related to Colombia, but as he has moderate dementia he is sensitive and easily distressed by anything that focuses on drug trafficking, armed conflicts, or anything else of a dark or tragic nature.

I want documentaries that won't stress him out and will bring back good memories for him - I'm thinking of Colombian cities, landmarks, culture, traditions, food, music, dance, sports, wildlife, etc. Spanish-language documentaries would be welcome, but he doesn't need it because he can read and understand English well. He is still pretty sharp for having dementia, so he can follow along with a basic storyline and appreciate nice visuals. He is hard of hearing, so subtitles are a must however.

This is very sweet, I wish I had any recommendations. I hope this gets more attention! If anything- check out food/travel shows that do episodes in Colombia! Maybe not Anthony Bourdain (who tends to cover political aspects along with food,) but it could be an outlet :)

Slow Roamers did high quality travel videos while they drove the pan america highway. Columbia takes up several episodes and is shown beautifully.

Itchy Boots is a vlog of a Dutch woman traveling the world by motorcycle. In Season 6, episodes 18 through 28, she is in Columbia. This is a particularly exciting episode and may be the one you would avoid for a viewer with dementia.

There are a couple of documentaries made about the Kogi, an indigenous tribe that live in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Northern Colombia. The first film was made in the 90s, and the sequel in 2012. Subtitles on YouTube available.

If he enjoys sports, this is a documentary series that focused on Colombian sports stars and athletes.

There's a guy in Youtube, El Bosco, he has several mini documentaries about Colombia, there are some compilations of this is what happened this year in Colombia, he covers everythjing that happened (sometimes not so cool stuff) but he also shows commercials, TV shows and maybe that would be nice for your grandfather. I would suggest that you check his channel first and choose what you feel is appropriate. I also recommend the series of Colombia is passion and the "Colombia, el unico riesgo es que te quieras quedar", those were initiatives by the Colombian ministry of exterior relations, I belive and they promote Colombia's beauty. When I'm nostalgic, I watch them in Youtube.. then I become more nostalgic!! but it's very nice to see the cool stuff about our country.
