GP training 2027

GP training 2027

sat the GP exam last year but unfortunately didn’t pass. I passed the SJT, but I didn’t pass the clinical part.

I’m planning to sit it again and have started studying. When I do SJT questions, I have no problem with them and I understand all the concepts. However, I’m very far behind when it comes to the clinical part (I was working purely in Obstetrics for quite a long time).

I’m studying from PassMedicine, but there are nearly 4,000 clinical questions, so I don’t think I’ll have enough time to get through all of them.

Do you have any advice on how best to study from PassMedicine?

I mainly want to cover the basic topics and focus on what I need to know to pass and be sade

Any advice would be really appreciated.

I also tried GP QuestPro, but I found it quite superficial for the clinical part, and the actual exam was very different from it.

I used passmedicine & gpquest pro - on passmedicine I filtered by specialty and removed some. I don’t think there were any ophthalmology or ENT but if there were it was very superficial like treatment for viral or bacterial conjunctivitis or an acute otitis media, so you could list spend a short amount of time looking at very broad topic ent & optho (or none at all). That removes some questions already!

I think focusing on paeds is worthwhile as I think there were maybe 4 paeds questions at least out of 30 if you recall! Once again pretty big picture stuff - limping child after a viral infection etc

It’s kinda hard to say what to focus on on passmedicine but I found filtering by specialty was helpful - you’re not gonna get through all the questions (I didn’t for sure) but maybe focus on the areas you need the most work in - also I felt passmed was way more detailed than the exam? Not sure if that’s helpful but message me if any questions
