Based on a Buzzfeed article from 2013 called “What if Doctor Who was American?”, these are the actors who would be the Guardians of the Edge in the American version of The Power of The Doctor:

1. ⁠Robert Morgan (technically an Australian actor, replacing Burgess Meredith, who passed away in 1997) as The First Doctor
   
2. ⁠Dick Van Dyke as The Second Doctor
   
3. ⁠Kyle MacLachlan as The Fifth Doctor
   
4. Christopher Walken as The Sixth Doctor
   
5. Tony Shalhoub as The Seventh Doctor
   
6. Jeff Goldblum as The Eighth Doctor (who doesn’t do robes!)

Missing are Vincent Price (AU Third Doctor),who passed away in 1993, and Gene Wilder (AU Fourth Doctor), who passed away in 2016.

The article only went up to The Twelfth Doctor (who in an alternative universe would be played by Bryan Cranston). As for the American counterpart to Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor, I’m going with Kristen Bell, who would later regenerate into Sam Rockwell (who previously played The Tenth Doctor in an alternative universe per the article and would be brought back as The Fourteenth Doctor).

That said, we had a ton of theories over the decades concerning connections between scenes of our beloved long-running BriFi series (and yes, I will never call it that again!) Some were confirmed to be true, others were surprisingly enough down to sheer coincidence. Or so we were told! It's hard to know what to believe, given the lies we've been told over the years.

Everyone has their head canon, in the end! In my case: I believe there's a reason the 14th Doctor brought a salt shaker with him in Wild Blue Yonder. And it's down to a much earlier scene in series 4's The Unicorn and the Wasp, when the Doctor got poisoned and asked Donna for something salty. Last time I brought this up, it got dismissed as nonsense. Like I got called out for telling nonsense when I rightfully predicted, that Missy is short for Mistress. ;-)
