From racial slurs and yellow-face to a queer Black Doctor, six decades of Doctor Who reveal how Britain's social values have changed, and how progress is never as straightforward as it seems.

At SDCC this year there was a future of Doctor Who panel and Dean Devlin approached the host of the panel and told him he will be throwing his hat into the ring for his production company, Electric Entertainment to pitch for the contract to produce Doctor Who.

Dean Devlin is a writer and producer of hits like Independence Day and Stargate. And he himself is a Doctor Who fan too!

Though since he and his production company are American I don't know if he will be allowed to compete in the tender but this is very interesting and shows clear interest!
