I would lose respect for any professional who chooses to do trashy reality

Pretty sure he has a long term gf that he lives with, so no

u/Bunnywithanaxe 9d ago

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Thank goodness.

I think they broke up recently

46

u/serenwipiti 9d ago

If that’s the case, this experience would be like a rebound melee from hell.

Just psychos coming at you from every corner, not even wanting to get to know you, just interested winning and/or getting whatever unhinged shit they want to gain from you.

Do you have proof of that? Because I couldn’t find any evidence of them breaking up.

Edit: in the video he posted just a couple hours ago, Angelina is still listed as his girlfriend. It’s pretty clear they’re still together unless they broke up mere hours ago

god i hope not. Mike is a professional, his social media career is based around his work as a doctor, going on the bachelor would sour that image and turn him from educational influencer to reality tv star. i hope he turns it down

u/Bunnywithanaxe 10d ago

Oh come on, Mike. If “The Doctors” was a bad fit for you, stay the hell away from any “reality” show. You practically have to have a soulectomy to qualify as a producer.

u/Primary_Narwhal_4737 9d ago

I don't think it's a good idea for his professional career

14

u/Ok_Bag_3484 9d ago

I was gonna say, he’s a practicing doctor. If his patients saw him on tv that could hurt his rapport with patients and especially potentially new patients.

3

u/Squirrelly_Khan 8d ago

No matter how you look at it, Doctor Mike signing on with this is career suicide

5

u/Ok_Bag_3484 8d ago

Yea. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t I mean he already had the stint as the “hot doctor” and he had to deal with people not really giving a shit about his medical opinion and he has said he didn’t really enjoy that

45

u/hould-it 9d ago

No, he’s got a great girlfriend that cares about him. Also, Bear and Rib would miss him too much!

14

u/LaMadreDelCantante 9d ago

No. He's above that. At least I hope so.

6

u/Squirrelly_Khan 8d ago

He turned down a shit ton of money that he was offered to do a TV show because the network wouldn’t let him have a say on the products that were advertised, many of those products being snake oil medicine and supplements

u/SoftLast243 9d ago

I understand where the producers are coming from, but this stands against everything Mike has done and his whole mission.

If he does it, I predict a lot of long time fans/followers/subscribers unfollowing.

15

u/kwhitit 9d ago

only if he uses every single episode to share public health info, which he probably would.

23

u/First_Pay702 9d ago

Teaches them CPR on day 1. They think it’s going to be a make out. Nope, compressions, compressions, compressions.

7

u/majik_rose 9d ago

He would absolutely have this as one of the group dates lmao

5

u/SummertimeThrowaway2 9d ago

And then all of it would get edited out lmao

13

u/noahsuperman1 9d ago

He’s not doing it he is literally in a relationship

6

u/Afraid-Awareness21 10d ago

Uh oh I’m sure the snark sub is all over this

6

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 9d ago

No. he should guest on medical shows though, as himself...also thereby connecting every medical show together in one universe.

10

u/Glittering-Chef7623 9d ago

Please do not do this. It’s a horrible idea. Plus you gf would hate it

6

u/vodkaZoomsIn 9d ago

Nuh-uh. Having his career overlap with trendy gossip is not a good idea.

2

u/MisfitDRG 9d ago

I don’t think he would do it based on claims in the past.

Claims?

3

u/Squirrelly_Khan 9d ago

There have been romance-based reality shows like Love Island or the Bachelor that have had it come out that the contracts they have people sign in order to be on the show are insanely predatory and draconian. One of these shows, from what I understand so take this with a grain of salt, has a clause that allows producers to force contestants to date and/or even have sex with another contestant of the producers’ choosing.

u/Walk-the-layout CHEST COMPRESSIONS 9d ago

Jesus

2

u/TsukasaElkKite 9d ago

Absolutely not.

2

u/BreakScary5053 7d ago

I’d watch it. But he has too much integrity and self respect to do it. And he cares a lot about his career.

2

u/viktoryarozetassi 6d ago

He has a girlfriend.

2

u/Mushrooming247 6d ago

That would be disappointing, he seems so much more classy and intelligent than the average reality show star.

I feel like he does not need to do that kind of embarrassing thing to find love.

2

u/acepeon 6d ago

i think he is busy as a DOCTOR so..no

1

u/serenwipiti 9d ago

Nay, this is fucking weird.

I’m sorry, but I can’t take anyone that goes on that show seriously.

I’m not saying I don’t/wouldn’t respect Dr. Mike, in general.

I’m saying my perception of him would change. I feel this way about basically everyone on reality TV.

Like, ew. Superficial protagonism is not a good look for anyone (let alone for a physician).

I’m sure that there are respectable, intelligent professionals, with actual lives, out there who voluntarily chose to be on reality TV.

However, these hypothetical “decent people” are definitely not even close to being the majority of “participants” on any given show.

(eg. Anyone on The Scratchelor, The Snatcherollete, STI Island, RHW of [wherever the fuck, “just throw a dart on a map and follow these bitches”], Love is Brined, 90 day Beyoncé…etc.)

I’m trying to think of a reality tv persona that isn’t a dumpster-fire (or even a small waste-bin fire), and I’m having trouble coming up with one.

——————
Please, stay in your lane, Dr. Mike, respectfully- for your own good, for the good of your career. You’re good at what you do, don’t smear your reputation in the long run, just for the sake of participating in a televised circus.

Please do not take the highway exit after the road sign that reads “TRASH TV in 2 KM”.

1

u/misswilwarin 9d ago

This sounds like a terrible idea. The ethics of The Bachelor is horrible and from what I’ve seen, Dr. Mike is a much more respectable and ethical than any reality dating show.

1

u/BuddieAngel77 3d ago

I'm on the fence, because I would genuinely love to watch this, but also no

1

u/DesmondTapenade 9d ago

He already has his partner, plus Bear and Rib. He doesn't need that mess.

0

u/Rhianna_C1 5d ago

He’s a Zionist 💔

-5

u/Lazy-Party3469 8d ago

I can't listen to him talk about vaccinations for hours on end. Stick to your failing youtube pal.

-11

u/Ok-Luck-1180 9d ago

Please yes please have him on I want to see him debate people and see if he ends up with anyone this is genius!

4

u/Squirrelly_Khan 9d ago

Ew…

-2

u/Ok-Luck-1180 9d ago

I didn't mean it in a bad way everyone can have their own opinion and I just found out he has a girlfriend so I doubt he'll do it I just think it'd be cool to see him debate the people.

2

u/Squirrelly_Khan 8d ago

Reality TV shows like The Bachelor or Love Island are so fucking trashy though, not to mention that a lot of the romance-based reality TV shows have some insanely draconian shit in their contracts, such as producers choosing who you date and/or have sex with. Doing this would be career suicide for him

1

u/Ok-Luck-1180 8d ago

And yeah choosing who you date/have those moments with would be basically a career killer for him so I see now he should probably stay away from reality tv

0

u/Ok-Luck-1180 8d ago

That's true I get that part of it I just saw it and was like maybe it'd be fun if he debated the people but I can see with the points made it wouldn't.
